The Therapist is responsible for providing quality, sufficient and appropriate services and for maintaining high professional standards. The Therapist is responsible for providing diagnostic assessments, therapy, counseling, and support services for a diverse caseload including adults, adolescents, and families experiencing mental health issues, communication challenges, or family conflict. They are a deeply familiar with other services and resources within the community and work closely with them to provide information and support when required.
This position is based in New Castle County, Delaware. Hybrid work schedule available.
Requirements General Accountabilities - Diagnose and treat substance use and mental health disorders.
- Facilitate sessions with individuals, groups, or families.
- Refer clients to specialists if necessary.
- Create a treatment plan based on each client's needs.
- Monitor client progress during treatment.
- Maintain confidentiality of records relating to clients' treatment
- Gather information about community substance use and mental health needs and resources that could be used in conjunction with therapy.
- Plan outreach and referral activities in surrounding communities
- Plan and conduct programs to prevent substance use or improve community health and counseling services.
- Assess clients' mental condition based on review of client information, interviews, observation, tests, and collaboration with other staff members.
- Serve as a client advocate to coordinate required services or to resolve emergency problems in crisis situations.
- Develop and implement treatment plans based on clinical experience and knowledge.
- Conduct initial family assessments and refer patients, clients, or family members to community resources or to specialists as necessary.
- Comply with all IMPACT Life policies and procedures.
- Participate in IMPACT Life committees and subcommittees.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Job Qualifications - Clinical License such as a LCSW, LPC, or LMFT required
- Masters Degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Counseling, Clinical Mental Health Counseling or related field required
- Minimum of 3-years work experience in Behavioral Health or related field
