Program Manager, Civic Infrastructure

Starts With Us, The Lubetzky Family Foundation

Remote

Who we are:

Starts With Us (SWU) is a growing movement to overcome extreme cultural and political divisions in America, leveraging media and technology to foster independent thinking and constructive communication across lines of difference. The initiative was launched in December 2021 in response to escalating patterns of extreme thinking and blind tribalism in the US. Starts With Us is incubated by The Lubetzky Family Foundation (LFF). Created by KIND Snacks Founder Daniel Lubetzky, LFF is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to finding solutions to societys greatest challenges.

America is plagued by extreme social division, toxic political and identity polarization, and a severe lack of trust in our critical institutions. These challenges affect Americans of all backgrounds, with no distinction of profession, age, or social strata. While many blame these divisions on traditional and social media, individual politicians, or the pandemic itself, they have existed and festered over many years, resulting from compounding causes and recently reaching a dangerous tipping point.

Though the problem is widely known, we havent seen a groundswell of solutions, much less ones that bring the best of the private and public sectors together. Enter Starts With Us.

Were rooting our movement programs, of which this role would be a leader, in problem-solving focused on addressing the root causes of societal erosion and division. Were focusing on the tip of the spear, the spaces that shape our society and can potentially shift the current conversation: Faith Leaders and Houses of Worship, Business Leaders and Corporate America, Teachers and Schools, News and Student Media, and grasstops civil society leaders.
