Customer Service & Support: (50%)

  • Represent and sell Chandons wines in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Adhering and working in accordance to Chandon standards of service.
  • Perform wine tastings, bottle and/or glass service, guest experiences, and wine education in a courteous manner
  • consistent with the Chandon brand standards.
  • Create Chandons sparkling cocktails correctly, having all ingredients and recipes committed to memory.
  • Assist in running food from kitchen to service area, describing dishes to guest in alignment with Chandons
  • standards.
  • Provide proper table maintenance continuously throughout shift.
  • Conveying all wine Club benefits in a clear, concise and sincere way.
  • Achieving and exceeding wine club goals set for the Visitor Center team.
  • Attending all VC bi-monthly meetings in order to stay updated with goals, new releases, new programs, and all
  • other educational materials
  • Reading the daily communication log for schedule updates, lunch/break times and club bar scheduling.
  • Maintaining a clean and safe facilities such as tasting room and terrace. These areas must be free of broken
  • glass, water and other safety hazards.
  • Operating the POS system with accuracy, completing all transactions, providing correct change, and accurately
  • ringing credit transactions.
  • Adhering to Chandons discount policy, providing all guests, internal and external, with appropriate discounts.
  • Practicing responsible hospitality at all times.

Efficient BOH support: (20%)

  • Maintain tasting bar by continuously cleaning and stocking during opening, closing and throughout service.
  • Keep all tables, chairs and service stations clean and sanitized throughout service.
  • Continuous bussing of glassware, silverware, and cleaning of any spills that may occur during service
  • Stock wine behind bar, still wine fridge, and additional service areas as needed. Assist Chandon Associates in
  • keeping accurate daily inventories.
  • Setup and break down of Chandon public and private tastings, experiences, and any other events that may occur.

Event Execution: (20%)

  • Assist Events & PR Manager, Manager, Assistant Visitor Center Manager, and other key stake holders in planning and implementing event.
  • Execute all internal and external events, including but not limited to private lunches, dinners, trade and market visits, and special tasting experiences. Also including assistance with Club Chandon events.
  • Must be able to successfully execute all areas and details of events without direct supervision while exercising a strong work ethic. Show the ability to make swift decisions on event flow along with solving any unseen issues that may occur.
  • Set-up and break down events, including movement of but not limited to tables, chairs, and wine to different event locations on property.

Set-up and Close-down: (10%)

  • Follow the opening checklist, ensuring all tasks are completed in a timely manner. The Tasting Salon must be fully cleaned, stocked, and ready for guests by opening time.
  • Initiate closing tasks and follow closing checklist ensuring that all closing tasks are performed, and the Tasting Salon is clean, stocked and ready for the opening staff.

OUR BUSINESS | FINANCIAL RETURNS (HOW WE GROW OUR REVENUE AND PROFIT BY OPERATING EFFICIENTLY) (30%)

  • Support the Brand Home Leadership management team in ensuring monthly wine club acquisition goals are met, striving to improve personal sign-up performance
  • Encourage up-sell potential for Experience upgrades, wine and food add-ons as well as take home experience (retail sales)
  • Operate point-of-sale system, with accuracy, receiving either cash or credit card, without over-short.
  • Processing customer payments

OUR HOME | RESPONSIBLE BUSINESS, SAFETY/ RISK MANAGEMENT (HOW WE SHOW WE CARE FOR THE ENVIRONMENT WE OPERATE IN) (10%)

  • Provide leadership, based on experience, through changes by identifying and overcoming obstacles and creating efficiencies Participate in daily, weekly or monthly walk-throughs capturing/ identifying near miss risks as well as repair needs
  • Actively take ownership of the communication on any potential safety risks or repair needs
  • Maintain exceptional Visitor Center standards, including overall cleanliness and communicating any outstanding repair issues to Experience Manager. Take ownership of our assets and act with integrity
  • Provide clear communication to both co-workers and guests regarding Chandons responsible hospitality policy and procedure.

Requirements

Education: High school diploma required: College education is preferred.

Languages: English required, second language helpful in communication with visiting public, but not required.

Professional experience & know how:

  • At least 1-2 years experience in hospitality sales, restaurants, wine education / hospitality industry. Public-speaking and exposure to both small and large groups.
  • Communicate through active-listening skills and open-ended questions to gather immediate and accurate insight into guest needs. Knowledge of methods for promoting and selling products while providing exceptional guest service.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and stressful situations.

Technical & management skills:

  • Complete multiple tasks with accuracy and urgency.
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Windows applications is an asset.
  • Assess situations quickly and respond with appropriate action, taking initiative to problem-solve, if necessary.
  • Able to process point-of-sale functions and comprehend mathematics to complete guest transactions.
  • Lead others by example and make decisions based on the need of the business.

Personal & interpersonal skills:

  • Work efficiently while following company standards, with or without immediate supervision.
  • Always possess and present yourself in a professional manner.
  • Ability to multi-task, work independently and as part of a team in a very fast paced environment.
  • Great communication skills are a must as well as is the ability to lead and motivate a large team in a fast-paced environment.
