Scientific Systems Company, Inc. (SSCI, (link removed)) is looking for a Software Engineer in the Visual-based Navigation Systems area of the Products Division.

*This position requires eligibility for U.S. Dept. of Defense Security Clearance.*

Requirements

• M.S. or B.S. w/ 4+ years of relevant experience, in software engineering, implementation, testing, and support for advanced technology development in the area of vision aided guidance, navigation and control systems
• Works as part of a team to design, implement, and test vision aided guidance, navigation, and control systems, autonomy, and software systems for embedded unmanned multi-vehicle autonomy
• Modifies, develops, writes and implements software programming applications and systems for real-world unmanned aerial, surface, undersea, and ground platforms

• Performs extensive coding, debugging, testing and troubleshooting to support the application and system development process
• Able to create derived requirements based on existing defined requirements
• Able to generate well-designed object-oriented application and systems architectures which leverage advanced programming techniques

• Contribute technical materials for proposals, white papers, and publications

Required Skills

• Advanced level of understanding and usage of software development tools and process, including:
  • C/C++ language
  • MATLAB
  • code editors
  • compiler and linker toolchains
  • unit and system testing
  • debugging process
  • repository management (e.g. Git)
  • issue tracking (e.g. Jira)
  • multiple scripting languages
  • code review process
  • code profiling and analysis
  • build automation and CI
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Experience working applications development on multiple operating systems (e.g. Windows, Linux).
• Basic working knowledge in one or more specialization areas, such as:

• RTOS
• User interface
• Low-level programming
• Formal V&V methods

Desired Skills

• Experience with computer vision and/or image processing algorithm implementation
• Experience with embedded software development
• Experience with Simulink
• Experience with GUI development
• Experience with VxWorks
• Experience with systems/software engineering processes such as SysML/UML
