The Vice President of Clinical and Regulatory Support, working under the supervision of the SVP of Clinical Services, supports clinical initiatives for owned, managed, consulting, and leased facilities by providing support to field CNOs and Nursing Directors.

Major Responsibilities

  • Assists in supporting Quality initiatives for owned, managed, leased, and consulting facilities.
  • Supports Regulatory Compliance and provides regulatory support for owned, managed and leased facilities.
  • Supports and leads Productivity initiatives for owned, managed and leased facilities.
  • Participates in the CHC mock survey process
  • Participates in CHC operations assessments
  • Serves as lead for Perioperative and Procedural Consultation and Mentorship.
  • Serves as the technical and software expert within the Quality/Clinical team.
  • May rarely serve in short-term interim executive CHC CNO roles as requested by the SVP of Clinical Services

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Ability to assist hospitals in enhancing a quality environment, positive clinical outcomes, operational productivity management, and a high level of patient, physician and employee satisfaction.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret clinical, financial and operational data.
  • Participates with the Director of Quality in the planning, scheduling, reporting, and action planning of mock surveys for all regulatory agencies.
  • Proficient knowledge of regulatory agency standards and the ability to assist hospitals in meeting standards and prepare for surveys and inspections.
  • Develops and manages a directory of documents that supports clinical, regulatory and quality initiatives for the owned, managed and leased facilities.
  • Strong awareness of hospital productivity standards and how to apply them within facilities.
  • Actively participates in Hospital Operational Assessments, CNO Development program and Quality Directors Development program.
  • May serve as the CHC representative (as requested) on EHR conversions.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from CHC corporate staff members, clinical and medical staff, Board members, facility leaders, and co-workers.
  • Works with people in such a manner as to build cooperation and group commitments to goals and objectives.
  • Assists with the identification of difficult operational and clinical care issues and promotes resolution thereof.
  • Strong ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent project management, time management, and planning skills.
  • Assists in identifying, investigating and resolving issues
  • High degree of political savvy
  • Ability to travel up to 70% of the time

Requirements

Education/Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Nursing or related healthcare field
  • Masters degree in Nursing or related healthcare field, highly preferred
  • Current RN license in the State of Texas or the ability to become licensed in Texas
  • Will require HACP certification during the first six months of employment
  • Must have valid drivers license
  • Plano based position

Experience:

  • Minimum of seven (7) years of hospital clinical practice experience
  • Three to five (5) years with a multi-department nursing oversight, preferably as CNO or Quality Director
  • Multi-hospital leadership and experience preferred
  • Rural and/or small hospital experience desirable
  • Operating Room, Intensive Care or Procedural background preferred
  • Required familiarity with Hospital Productivity, Nursing Standards, Regulatory Standards of TJC, CMS, CIHQ, HFAP, DNV, and CAH CMS, Regulatory Reporting and Process Improvement programs
