We are seeking committed and passionate After School Program Instructors to lead academic, physical, and enrichment activities as part of our East Bay After School Programs. As a Youth Expanded Learning Program Instructor you will lead and mentor youth in an afterschool setting. Be part of an innovative and creative team that impacts the community, make the world a better place, and be part of change.

Benefits

  • Pay rate: $17.00 per hour
  • Hours: Flexible Hours, based on school schedule
  • Schedule: Monday through Friday, between the hours of 2:30 pm and 6:00 pm
    • (your summer school assigned site will decide your 5 hours for each day)

Qualifications:

  • No prior experience required (we will train you)
  • Currently participating in an expanded learning program at your school
  • Available Monday through Friday
  • Ability to reliably commute to site location.
  • Commitment to social justice and leadership
  • Passionate about learning and youth development: K-8 grade
  • Ability to work in a collaborative team environment

Preferred: Able to practice open, clear and consistent communication, commitment to participate in professional development.

Responsibilities:

  • Support and maintain a safe and emotionally supportive environment
  • Implement lesson plans that support summer learning goals
  • Collaborate with adult instructors to support their (youth-driven curriculum)
  • Model BACR Best Practices (See employee handbook for Best Practices)
