We are looking for an Associate Director of Strategic Communications to lead a team of analysts. The ideal candidate will have experience as a successful analyst in the field of strategic or crisis communications, along with government experience. A successful candidate will have a track record of delivering innovative and actionable data-driven analysis (quantitative and qualitative). Managerial experience includes having direct experience in overseeing the achievement of larger organizational goals with strong attention to strategy, implementation, and delegation. The Associate Director plays a critical leadership role in how Parenthetics leadership team makes decisions for department growth. An ideal candidate will enjoy working alongside a growing department of critical thinkers, strategists, researchers, analysts, innovators, and engineers.

Responsibilities

The Associate Director of Strategic Communications primarily performs, but is not limited to, the following duties:

  • Work withand frequently hold a leadership role withinmulti-company, multidisciplinary teams focused on developing cutting edge analytical and technology solutions for national defense and private industry.
  • Manage a team of analysts tasked with designing, developing, and maintaining analytics solutions that support a growing array of business service lines.
  • Develop and deliver papers, briefs, or other presentations to clients, stakeholders, and partners at both the analyst-level and to senior-level government officials and private industry executives.
  • Manage research and analysis projects in behavioral science and related fields.
  • Inform project scope and ensure adherence to time and cost budgets.
  • Develop analytical workflow and counsel technical teams on appropriate interpretation of theoretical underpinnings and operational use.
  • Execute client-facing aspects of program management, to include managing client/ stakeholder relationships and expectations, proposing new areas for research, and packaging and presenting findings or conclusions.
  • Develop and deliver papers, briefs, or other presentations to clients, stakeholders, and other companies/teams at both the analyst level and to senior-level government officials and private industry executives.
  • Translate end user/stakeholder requirements to technical teams and similarly translate technology capabilities and features to targeted end users/stakeholders.
  • Serve as a strategic partner to the project teams by monitoring developments in key client issue areas and identifying opportunities for further client engagement
  • Manage and mentor company personnel.
  • Participate in the hiring process, including interviewing prospective candidates, evaluating technical capabilities, and making hiring recommendations.
  • Partner closely with the company CEO to cultivate new business opportunities.
  • Write proposals and white papers.
  • Other tasks as directed.

Requirements

Work Experience and Skills

  • The position requires on-site work in the Washington Metropolitan Area (D.C., Maryland, Virginia) for a Federal Government client. Occasional domestic travel (less than 10%) may be required based on operational needs.
  • Candidates must have a current Top Secret security clearance and be SCI/SAP eligible (i.e., possess SCI or have had SCI in the last 24 months).
  • Bachelors degree with 10+ years of work experience or advanced degree with 7-9 years of work experience; preferably in psychology, communications, marketing, or other social science fields. Relevant military or prior government experience in lieu of a four-year degree will be considered.
  • Stellar business communication skills with an ability to actively listen and ask questions to unpack meaning from and further understanding of business users, articulate complex concepts in a clear way, offer constructive feedback and distill meaning.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross functional teams to meet or exceed business team expectations.
  • Exceptional project management skills, organizational abilities, problem solving proficiencies and attention to detail.
  • Flexibility to assume a workload which frequently necessitates an adjustment of priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with large data sets, creating/maintaining data pipelines, and unrefined, incomplete, or nonexistent systems of measurement.
  • Experience in experimentation design, implementation, and analysis.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate business needs into analytical hypotheses, project requirements, statistical analyses and end visualizations and dashboards that are easy for non-technical audiences to comprehend and navigate.
  • Familiarity with U.S. Government acquisitions and budget management.


Salary Range: $120,624 - $185,421
