About this Role

We are looking for a highly creative, organized, and experienced Digital & Graphic Design Manager to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for design and a proven track record of leading a successful design team. This role will be responsible for managing a team of designers, while ensuring that all projects are completed on time and to the highest standard, while also contributing to design work and related projects.

This position will report into the Creative Art Director. This role will also work collaboratively with project managers, copywriters, developers, and cross-collaboratively across internal departments.


Compensation

The starting annual salary for this role is $60-80,000 USD depending on knowledge, skills, experience, education, and geographical location.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of designers, providing direction and support to ensure the team is motivated and producing high-quality work.
  • Complete assigned design projects, delivering high quality digital and print designs that aligns with brand standards and marketing directives.
  • Responsible for completion of design projects related to branding, product packaging, UI/UX, marketing campaigns, retail merchandising and other projects to meet company goals.
  • Manage the design team's workflow, ensuring that all projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Source and delegate freelance design work when required to meet resource needs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, engineering, and marketing, to determine project requirements and ensure that design projects are aligned with overall business goals.
  • Mentor and coach team members, helping them to grow their skills and achieve their career goals.
  • Stay up to date with the latest design trends and technologies and incorporate this knowledge into the team's work.
  • Develop and implement procedures to ensure the design team is operating efficiently and effectively.

Requirements

  • Professionally fluent in English
  • Advanced degree in Graphic Design, Communication Design, or a related field highly preferred
  • 5+ years of professional experience in a graphic design role
  • 3+ years of professional experience in a design leadership role
  • Strong portfolio of design work that demonstrates a deep understanding of design principles, typography, and color theory
  • Experience with design software such as Adobe Creative Suite
  • Working knowledge of offset print production for packaging and large formats
  • Detail oriented with the ability to meet quality expectations and strict deadlines
