As a world class asset-based carrier, Charger Logistics specializes in delivering assets, on time and on budget. With the diverse fleet of equipment, we can handle a range of freight, including dedicated loads, specialized hauls, temperature controlled goods and HAZMAT cargo.

We are currently looking to hire an experienced and dynamic Director of Maintenance in Laredo, TX (link removed)
This is an on-site opportunity.

Job Duties:

  • The Director will work to develop strategies to support maintenance teams at different terminals.
  • Leading and implementing strategies and programs to benefit the company in all maintenance related areas.
  • Working on improving and revising existing repair procedures that result in reduced breakdowns and repair cost.
  • Collaborates with all departments to ensure consistent execution and compliance for a network that includes shops in the US and Canada.
  • Responsible for the strategic oversight and alignment of the corporations maintenance functions, including the leadership, and execution of all programs, policies, and procedures related to rolling stock, equipment parts procurement, and general maintenance.
  • Develop the programs to reduce cost and over the road breakdown's.
  • Establish and set up Preventative Maintenance Plans in the system, including but not limited to time based maintenance.
  • Monitor and forecast upcoming pre-planned work and ensure work orders are generated, processed, and scheduled.
  • Supervise and lead all maintenance processes. Controls maintenance costs relating to personnel, purchasing, inventory control and outsourcing of repairs.
  • Adheres and awareness of all DOT and related rules/regulations.

Requirements


  • 7+ years of maintenance management experience.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of the maintenance planning process.
  • Knowledge of DOT and other related rules/ regulations
  • Must have an excellent understanding of warranty repairs, maintenance, parts management, and best practices in continuous improvement processes.
  • Must have related experience in a senior leadership role.
  • Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills & strong interpersonal and customer relation skills.
  • Ability to function independently with little or no supervision as well as function in a team environment.
  • Experience working in the transportation industry would be an asset.
  • Related college or university degree is an asset.
