The price of gasoline was skyrocketing, gas stations were closing nationwide, and carmakers began exploring how to develop cars that got better mileage. But for George and Gary, it wasnt about better milage. It was about finding a home to preserve the culture of those old gas stations and high-powered muscle cars. So was born Quaker Steak & Lube, a restaurant that gave old muscle cars a permanent home, which included a 1936 Chevrolet, frozen in time on the original hydraulic grease rack.
With over 50 locations throughout the United States, JDK Management Company and The Lube are still rescuing muscle cards, vintage cars, trucks, and a vast selection of custom and antique motorcycles, giving them good homes hanging from the walls and ceilings in each restaurant. Quaker Steak & Lube in Cleveland, OH is looking for an experienced General Manager, who is dedicated, ambitious and seeks opportunities to grow their career. Requirements
General Manager Responsibilities:
The position of General Manager is a fast-paced role that manages the daily operations and staff of the restaurant, including the execution of all Company policies, procedures, programs, and systems. The General Manager provides leadership, direction, training, and development to all direct reports. The role of General Manager also contributes to the success of the restaurant by building sales, hitting goals, driving restaurant profitability, and completing all other duties as assigned. Decisions are guided by established policies/procedures and the Regional Director.
Knowledge:
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
- Strong planning, problem solving and organization skills
- Dedication to providing exceptional guest service
- Ability to multi-task while maintaining required standards
Education / Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience in a leadership role is required
- A minimum of 1 year of prior experience in family or casual dining restaurant is required
- ServSafe Food Manager Certification is preferred
Physical Requirements:
- Stand and walk for long periods of time without rest or sitting down
- Push, lift, carry and transfer up to 50 lbs.
- Exposure to heat, steam, smoke and cold
- Ability to freely access all areas of the restaurant
