Valard Construction USA is a premier utility contractor based out of the US and part of the Quanta Group, the largest electrical power contractor in North America. Valard has full-service capabilities for transmission, distribution, substations, foundations, telecommunications, and renewable energy. Valard Construction USA is a non-union US contractor.


Valard Construction is looking for Heavy Duty Mechanic for a project located in Rawlins, Wyoming.

Rotation/Shift: 20 days-on / 10 days-off

Travel is required.

Requirements


Must have experience in the following:

  • Maintenance and repair of internal combustion engines and components; both stationary & mobile
  • Certified in on-road & off-road vehicle maintenance
  • Maintenance and repair of gas & diesel engines, and compressors
  • Maintenance and repair of tracked equipment (e.g., crawler tractors)
  • Maintenance and repair of ground engaging equipment and components
  • Maintenance and repair of earth-moving equipment
  • Maintenance and repair of tractors
  • Maintenance and repair of on-highway & off-highway vehicles (e.g., trucks)
  • Maintenance and repair of towed on-highway & off-highway vehicles (e.g., trailers)
  • Must be able to interpret work orders and vehicle manuals
  • Keep equipment clean, lubricated, and maintained
  • Diagnose faults or malfunctions
  • Adjust equipment, repair, or replace defective parts, components, or systems
  • General testing & repairs of equipment for proper performance; ensuring that the work is done to meet manufactures specifications and legislated regulations
  • Write detailed and accurate service/maintenance reports
  • Mentor and provide sufficient training with Heavy Duty Mechanic Apprentices as required
  • Have a valid Drivers License and a clean drivers record
  • Must be willing to travel out of town when required
  • Perform all other assigned duties

The qualified candidates must have a minimum of 5 years of experience as Heavy Duty Mechanic, must be skilled in the area of diagnostics on the engine, transmission and hydraulic systems, and must be able to perform state inspections. Preference will be given to applicants with Utility Experience (digger, crane & backhoe)(link removed) Class A CDL is considered an asset.
