Seattle Foundation seeks a new Investment Accountant! - Location: Seattle, WA
- Flexible work model; hybrid (training) to remote
- Successful candidate must live in WA state by start of position
- Hiring pay range: $75,000 - $80,000
- Full grade range: Grade 31: $61,004 to $94,556

The OpportunityThe Investment Accountant is responsible for all aspects of accounting, record keeping and reporting for the Foundation's investments including all investment management pools, tracking contributions for new funds, compliance and regulatory aspects of investments related to Foundation policies and State laws and calculation and allocation of the income and expenses for funds.
Responsibility include, though are not limited to; - Support the operational needs of the Foundation , including cash and investment accounts to ensure adequate funds are available for grants and expenses
- Support treasury management activity, including cash forecasting, payment processing, reconciliation and reporting
- Support investment account maintenance process, including opening/closing accounts, updating online user access and signature cards
- Support investment activity of the Foundations investment portfolios, including reconciliation of investment pools and earnings and expense allocation to individual funds, including administrative fee calculation for all funds in the foundations portfolio
- Manage investment relationships, including the Foundations i nvestment advisor, various banks,investment management firms and Foundation donors
- Managing relationships with various internal stakeholders in Philanthropic Services and Community Programs
- Read and interpret the Foundations Investment Policy and Spending Policy and suggest changes if needed
- Support the Investment Committee meetings
- Assist with annual audit
- Support the annual budget processes
- Assist in the design and implementation of efficient, effective processes for fund management
Requirements Required: - Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or related field or equivalent experience
- At least two years experience in an accounting, treasury and/or financial analytic role, trust accounting, fund accounting experience is a plus
- Familiar with the non profit fund approach to accounting for investments
Preferred:
- Knowledge of GAAP and other comprehensive bases of accounting, with an emphasis on organizational structures used in investments such as partnerships and limited liability companies
- Experience preparing and reviewing general ledgers, work papers and financial statements
- Strong initiative, organizational and communication skills and ability to self manage in an ambiguous environment
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Advanced Excel user with ability to keep track of large volumes of investment data
