Canine and Explosive Detection Handler
Job Description:
We are seeking a highly trained and motivated Canine and Explosive Detection Handler to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for working with a specially trained dog to detect explosives in a variety of settings, including airports, public events, and other high-risk locations.
Responsibilities:
- Work with a specially trained dog to detect explosives in a variety of settings
- Conduct searches of people, vehicles, and buildings to identify potential threats
- Communicate effectively with other members of the team, as well as with civilians and other law enforcement agencies
- Pay close attention to detail and respond quickly and appropriately to potentially dangerous situations
- Maintain the health and well-being of the canine partner, including feeding, grooming, and exercising as needed
- Work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as well as travel as needed for the job
- Work effectively as part of a team to ensure public safety

Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Specialized training in canine handling and explosives detection
- Previous experience working with dogs in a law enforcement or military setting
- Good physical shape, with the ability to handle dogs that can weigh up to 100 pounds
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to pass a thorough background check, including a criminal history check and drug screening
- Ability to obtain a security clearance
- Willingness to work flexible hours and travel as needed
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
