As a Cook at the Hilton Garden Inn Fort Myers you will prepare, season and cook food, adhering to the highest quality standards. The cook is responsible for a sanitary workstation and the safe handling of all product.

Responsibilities:

  • Examines food to assure quality.
  • Regulates temperatures of ovens, grills and other cooking equipment.
  • Prepares food for cooking (i.e. meat, poultry, seafood, fruit and vegetables).
  • Cooks food by a range of methods (i.e., baking, braising, frying, roasting or steaming).
  • Portions and serves food in the kitchen and ensures that food is well-presented.
  • Cleans food preparation areas and equipment; ensures sanitary conditions at end of shift.
  • Stores food in temperature-controlled facilities.
  • Assures kitchen is hygienic and functional.
  • Prepares food to meet special dietary requirements, when necessary.

Shift: AM, PM

Requirements

  • A high level of personal cleanliness
  • Ability to organize efficient work schedules and work under pressure.
  • Good communication skills
  • Flexibility with regard to scheduling.
  • Ability to maintain control and composure in difficult, high pressure, situations.
  • Ability to function in a team.
