We currently have an exciting opportunity as a Maintenance Tech! This role is based in our facility in Preston, Idaho and the selected candidate will work 4 10-hour shifts, 6:00 am to 4:30 pm - that means a 3-day weekend every week! This position will start at $20.23 per hour.


Job Summary

We are seeking an energetic individual who will be responsible for the inspection, troubleshooting, and overhaul of mechanical systems used in fabrication. We are willing to train someone who is looking for a long-term career in manufacturing and has good mechanical aptitude! This position will focus primarily on the general upkeep, repair, preventative maintenance and safe operation of an assigned area and the equipment operating within.


Principal Responsibilities
  • Plan and layout work assignments from complex blueprints, sketches, or verbal instruction and accomplish these assignments with the maximum efficiency.
  • Inspect, diagnose, maintain, and repair plant machinery, tooling, molds, equipment, systems, buildings, and physical structures.
  • Operate hoisting and lifting devices to position machinery and parts during installation, set-up, and repair of machinery.
  • Competently and safely use all tools and operate all machine tools such as lathes and grinders for the efficient overhaul, maintenance or set-up of Plant equipment.
  • Provide training, instruction, and direction to apprentices or helpers assigned.
  • Know and keep familiar with all national and local codes as they affect repair and maintenance, safety, and construction and dismantling of machinery, equipment, and structures.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance programs and keep accurate maintenance records.
  • Work with other classifications of employees in emergency situations, in plant shutdown periods, and in times when machinery is not operating. Perform any duties necessary to get equipment and machinery back into operation in minimum time.
  • Complete maintenance request forms accurately and in a reasonable amount of time.
  • Maintain inventory levels and direct purchases of new tools and/or machinery.
  • Conduct other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older; High School diploma or certificate of completion is preferred.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is an asset; some training will be provided..
  • Basic mechanical knowledge is required. Electrical troubleshooting skills and/or welding experience is considered a plus.
  • Must be eager to learn, self-motivated to work independently and have good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety practices is necessary.
  • Must provide own safety boots and preferably own basic hand tools.
  • Available to work four 10-hour weekdays, 6:00 am to 4:30 pm.
  • Successful completion of a drug screen.

Working Conditions

Incumbent spends almost 100% of their time in a plant environment requiring varying degrees of considerable physical labor. Lifting up to 50 lbs., pulling, bending, pushing heavy objects, standing for long periods of time. and walking cover the majority of work. Personal safety is affected by exposure to heat, dust, noise levels and the use of equipment such as sharp blades and presses. High amount of sensory attention is required.
