The Role

We have an exciting new opening for a Manager of Toys Licensing in our Licensing & Merchandising team to build our growing portfolio of licensees within Moonbugs brands. We are a young, high-growth business, and this is a wonderful opportunity to join a fast-paced, fun company.

The Toys Licensing Manager will report to the Director of Toys and will collaborate with internal and external partners to develop and execute licensing strategies across the Moonbug portfolio to drive growth of Moonbug licensed toy products.

The ideal candidate is a go-getter who understands the unique nature of the licensed consumer products business and the components needed to develop and drive successful go-to-market strategies.

The successful candidate must be able to work independently, have great communication and relationship-building. The candidate must also be proactive, strategic and great at working collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

This role will report full-time ON-SITE at our West Hollywood Office.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for day-to-day contact with designated toy licensees from contract negotiation and execution, monitoring contractual obligations and product line optimization.
• A key contributor to line development, providing strategic direction and creative insight for slots and rats and key item driver product development.
• Manage and support Licensing Directors by gathering, analyzing, and tracking core toy retail placement reports, POS reports, quarterly budget forecasting needs and licensing updates.
• Coordinate & conduct regular business meetings with licensees to provide brand updates, analyze current performance, retail placement improvement and opportunities for growth.
• Drive licensing contract new deals and deal memo process working with Legal and internal stakeholders for routing and approval.
• Contribute in the planning, preparation and attendance of L&M Licensing Summits, Licensing Show and Toy Fairs.
• Collaborate cross functionally with internal Moonbug L&M stakeholders (across Product Development, Retail Development, Marketing, and Franchise to drive toy category business goals).
• Prepare regular Toy licensing updates and presentations to share with internal Moonbug stakeholders and external retailers.
• Work closely with content distribution, data team, franchise and marketing teams to develop and deliver regular updates and information to update sales and marketing materials and decks to inform toy partners and retailers.
• Support core toy initiatives and priorities in Canada and LATAM agents.
• Coordinate and procure ad hoc product samples from licensees as requested for Moonbug internal and external marketing/PR requests.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• 5+ years related experience in a licensing role (toys/hardlines and character licensing management experience desired).
• Positive, creative thinker, resourceful and motivated team player.
• Strong proficiency in Word, Powerpoint, Outlook and Excel and Google Apps. Keynote experience is a plus.
• Strong understanding of character entertainment brand positioning, toy retail segmentation and toy competitive landscape.
• Strong time management, prioritization and planning capabilities. Ability to work under pressure

Salary: $100,000-$110,000
