The successful candidate for this position will be responsible for the operation, surveillance, and troubleshooting of Nitrogen/Helium Processing Units and associated equipment. This contractor position is for a Plant Operator for our client's Energy plant in St Johns, AZ. Operating and maintaining a CO2 removal Unit, Helium Processing Unit, and associated equipment. The applicant will be required to be on-call 24 hours a day and have a wireless phone with internet capability. Paid monthly. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: May include any or all the following. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. - Work independently with little or no supervision.
- Demonstrate strong commitment to safety (personal safety, co-workers, contractors, and the public).
- Validate and input Plant meter and compressor readings along with downtime.
- Track health of equipment by reviewing temperatures and pressures.
- Represent the company in a professional manner always while performing all assigned tasks.
- Responsible for submitting accurate maintenance reports, timesheets, and other necessary paperwork daily.
- Communicate with management.
- Ensure all equipment is in clean and presentable condition.
- Other duties may be assigned.
Requirements Skills/Capabilities/Education: - General knowledge of machines and tools, materials, methods, and the tools involved in the repair of compression units.
- High School Graduate or G.E.D.
- 1+ years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. A minimum of one year in a vocational/ technical training or apprenticeship program is preferred but not required.
- Must have valid drivers license and an excellent driving record.
- Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills
- Competent in MS Office Products (Excel, Word, etc.)
- Motivated self-starter capable of working independently and efficiently with little or no supervision.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to follow instructions, respond to management direction; take responsibility for own actions; keep commitments; complete tasks on time or notify appropriate person with an alternate plan.
- Ability to adapt to changes in the work environment; manage competing demands; change approach or method to best fit the situation; able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events.
- Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner; gather and analyze information skillfully; develop solutions.
- Proven ability to analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
- Mechanical intuition or ability.
- Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
- Manage time between several different stations.
Conditions: - Non-traditional working hours are required.
- Must be able to stand or walk on uneven terrain, climb personnel stairs and ladders, stoop, squat and/or crawl depending on the directed task.
- Exposure to extreme temperatures, weather conditions and environments on a location-by-location basis.
- High noise environment (>85 dB) will occur with ear protection.
- Potential controlled, exposure to hazardous chemicals.
- Safety first regardless of the site conditions.
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
