Role Overview

Good Sports is looking for a new teammate who is willing to take on challenges and join our growing team as a Program Associate. The Associate will manage the administrative details related to Good Sports ongoing programmatic activities. They are responsible for furthering the day-to-day tasks that advance programming goals and metrics.

Requirements

  • Develop relationships with members of the community population. Work closely with a cohort of grant-recipient community organizations to identify & validate their needs to facilitate donations of gear to meet their top equipment needs over a span of five years.
  • Support the Operations Team (both Program and Warehouse Teams) to ensure that strategic inventory distribution goals are met, that partners goals are met, and donations and activation events are executed successfully
  • Assist with the design and management of community outreach & stewardship initiatives. This includes contacting youth sports leaders, and school & community program representatives, and conducting research to encourage applications.
  • Review grant applications using a specialized rubric, and make well-thought-out, unbiased, and inclusive recommendations about which organizations will and which organizations will not qualify to be a part of the approved cohort that receives donations
  • Regularly collaborate with colleagues, managers, and director to achieve team and organizational goals
  • Play an active role in the execution of donation & activation events
  • Collect key data to identify high-impact donations & volunteer stories to assist with the curation of community stories that can be leveraged for impact reports and social media that help to humanize the Good Sports mission
  • All other duties as may be assigned by the Program Manager(s), and the Director
  • Travel is required (approx. 15%). Ability to work occasional weekends and evenings as necessary.
  • In addition to day-to-day administration duties, all Associates will be involved from time to time with warehouse-related tasks. These may include picking, packing, and shipping outgoing donations, receiving incoming donations, sorting, and year-end inventory audit counting.

Qualifications, Skills, and Attributes

  • Passionate about the Good Sports mission
  • Fully vaccinated against Covid-19
  • An Undergraduate Degree and 1-2 years of working experience in an administrative role in a corporate office environment. A combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Highly organized and process-driven work style with the ability to quickly resolve and troubleshoot under pressure. Self-initiated with the foresight to anticipate needs weeks and months in advance.
  • Skilled researcher with the ability to find, collect, interpret, evaluate, and distill information
  • Exceptional written and verbal skills. High level of comfort speaking in front of large groups, making outreach over the phone, via email, and on virtual platforms. Customer service experience is a plus.
  • Team oriented can do attitude and approach to work with a willingness to help others and positively contribute to the Good Sports culture
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft applications (Outlook Email, Teams, SharePoint, and Excel) with the ability to quickly learn new technology

Reporting Relationship and Location

This is a Boston Area-based position (Braintree, MA) and is not remote. The Associate will report to a Program Manager and will be required to be onsite in the Braintree facility 4 days/week, with 1 day/week remote from a home office.
