Skyven Technologies, an Energy-as-a-Service company focused on cutting CO2 emissions related to industrial process heating, is hiring a full-time Project Manager.

About the Job

We are looking for a Project Manager to oversee the execution of new decarbonization projects for Skyvens Industrial manufacturing customers. As the Project Manager, youll be responsible for the management of the projects life cycles, including conception, design, procurement, construction, start-up, and commissioning. To succeed in this role, you must have experience managing industrial projects from $5M to $20M in total installation cost.

About the Role

In this role, youll work closely with and manage engineering firms, third-party vendors, construction management (CM) firms, general contractors, subcontractors, and operation and maintenance personnel. Your job will be to manage the project life cycle of industrial decarbonization projects including conception, design, procurement, permitting, construction, start-up, and commissioning. This position is remote, with periodic site visits.

Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple industrial decarbonization projects through all phases of the project life cycle including conception, design, procurement, permitting, construction, start-up, commissioning, and ongoing operations and maintenance (O&M)
  • Manage all stakeholders within the projects including customers, equipment suppliers, project financiers, incentive program managers, engineering firms, permitting authorities, and installation contractors
  • Communicate quickly and consistently
  • Be the key interface between the customer and all other stakeholders within the project;
  • Provide scope, budget, schedule, and risk input to sales during project conceptualization
  • Develop scope, budget, schedule, and risk baselines for each project and manage the projects against the baselines
  • Track and report on project progress and performance metrics including cost, schedule, scope, and risk
  • Lead the bidding process for engineering firms, equipment suppliers, CM firms, and contractors;
  • Negotiate with stakeholders as needed to maximize customer satisfaction while minimizing cost overruns, scope creep, and schedule delays
  • Understand the details of complex CapEx contracts
  • Review vendor, supplier, consultant, and contractor bids for accuracy and completeness
  • Review engineering designs for accuracy and completeness
  • Identify and mitigates risks throughout the project life cycle
  • Develop startup and commissioning plans for complex industrial equipment
  • Ensure Skyven meets all contractual obligations of each project
  • Support the development of best practices, policies, and procedures for the Project Management Office (PMO)
  • Deliver Skyvens industrial decarbonization projects to satisfied customers


Location

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering (preferably Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering)
  • 5+ years of engineering and/or project management experience in an industrial manufacturing organization (preferably Food & Beverage, Chemicals, or Pulp & Paper)
  • 2+ years of project management experience leading major CapEx projects (>$5 million) involving multiple functions, disciplines, customers, and sites
  • Technical understanding in the areas of engineering including mechanical, piping, civil, structural, process, electrical, and controls
  • Experience managing engineering firms, suppliers, contractors, subcontractors, and internal resources to facilitate project execution
  • Experience working in a cross-functional, fast-paced environment
  • Familiarity with the Stage-Gate project delivery process, industrial manufacturing equipment and controls, contract management, team building, and client relationship management
  • Familiarity with fixed and rotating equipment typically found at industrial manufacturing sites
  • Excels at organizing information in the midst of ambiguity
  • Excels at communicating technical and non-technical information across diverse stakeholders
  • Project Management Professional certification, Professional Engineer (PE) license, and/or Certified Construction Manager (CCM) credential a plus
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites as needed (~25%)
  • Ability to work in office and field environments
