About this Role
Glorious is a lifestyle gaming hardware company, built by passionate enthusiasts on a mission to change the status quo of the PC gaming industry. Since 2014 we've provided PC gaming hardware and accessories engineered for elite-level performance, premium quality, and high-end aesthetics.
Our company is rapidly growing, and as part of that growth, we are looking for a Quality Assurance Engineer experienced with QA for both software and hardware. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented and committed to growing the high quality standards we have for Glorious products.
Initially, the individual hired for this role will be inspecting Glorious hardware and how it interacts with Glorious Core (our unified software suite). Long-term, this person should also expect to take ownership of QA projects involving our ecommerce platform (Shopify), and also help to build and maintain QA solutions for our flagship products and software.
This position reports to the Vice President of Engineering. The person in this role will work cross-collaboratively with our engineering teams, focusing both on ecommerce and our product lineup.
Compensation
The starting annual salary for this role is $60-72,000 USD depending on knowledge, skills, experience, education, and geographical location.
Key Responsibilities
- Thoroughly test and evaluate mice, keyboards, and other gaming peripherals in various stages of the product development process
- Test and evaluate both internal and customer-facing software applications
- Perform QA testing on our ecommerce platform (Shopify)
- Assist with the development of a QA manual/guidelines
- Assist with the creation and maintenance of automated QA pipelines/testing solutions
- Gather data and generate reports on all activities
Requirements
- Professional fluency in English
- A bachelors degree in Quality Assurance, Computer Science, or a similar field; or the equivalent combination of education and training
- Advanced experience with computer software and multiple operating systems (including both Windows and macOS)
- 3+ years of experience conducting high-caliber QA testing for software and hardware, including Shopify and/or other ecommerce platforms
- General knowledge of JavaScript, Python, and Agile development principles
- Experience with software testing tools including TestRail and BrowserStack
- Understanding of automated pipeline systems in git tools (e.g. GitHub, GitLab)
- Understanding of the purpose and function of automated testing
- Understanding of product performance metrics, specifically related to mice, keyboards, and other gaming peripherals
These skills are a plus, but not required:
- Experience writing and building automated tests
- Knowledge of UX/UI design concepts
- Experience with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and/or XD
- PC building, gaming, or PC peripherals knowledge/experience
