Position - Network Administrator

Location - Pikesville, MD (Fully onsite)
Duration 12+ Months

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Ensure the stable operation of the computer networks. This included planning, developing, installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all network hardware, software, and communication links.

2. Analyze and resolve end user network issues in a timely and accurate fashion.

3. Provide end user training where required and/or other technician training.

4. Ensure that necessary system patching and backups are performed, including storage rotation of backups is accomplished.

5. Monitor and maintain records of system performance and anticipate requirements for system expansion.

6. Assist MDSP staff monitor and comply with State data security requirements.

7. Coordinate with management and stakeholders on installation and repair of equipment, user training, and network management.

8. Develop and execute regular reports as requested and required.

9. After-hours support as needed.

*Education:

An Associate's degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or a related field, or two (2) years of college or university study in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or a related field.

Note: If applicable, should be certified as a network administrator for a specific network operating system as defined in the State task request. Certification criteria is determined by the network operating system vendor.

Two (2) additional years of specialized experience may be substituted for the required education.

Preferred Education/Certifications:

MCSE, CISSP, CCNA, or CCNP certifications.
Experience as a Google IT Support Professional.

Professional experience with the below technologies:

• Cisco Routers/Switches
• Firewalls
• Veeam
• NETAPP
• GOOGLE

General Experience: Two (2) years of experience in a computer-related field.

*Specialized Experience: One (1) year of experience in one or more of the following areas: data communications engineering, data communications hardware or software analysis, network administration or management, data communications equipment installation and maintenance, or computer systems administration and management.

Preferred Experience:

Experience as a Google IT Support Professional.
Professional experience with the below technologies:

• Cisco Routers/Switches
• Firewalls
• Veeam
• NETAPP
• GOOGLE
