The Role

As our Director of Software Engineering, you'll play a crucial part in leading our passionate software development teams to deliver high-quality, scalable products that push the boundaries of what's possible in fan experience. Reporting directly to the CTO, you'll help shape the strategic direction of our technology stack and ensure that our vision and goals come to life. You'll be the driving force behind our software engineering teams, overseeing day-to-day operations and providing inspiring leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Leadership:

  • Take the reins in developing, architecting, and designing software products that exceed quality standards, performance benchmarks, and user expectations.
  • Collaborate with the CTO to chart the technical course and strategy for our engineering teams.
  • Keep your finger on the pulse of the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices, inspiring our engineering teams to adopt them.

Team Management:

  • Directly mentor and support several software development team leads, helping them excel in their roles.
  • Cultivate a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the engineering organization.
  • Spearhead the development and delivery of our cutting-edge B2B and B2C platforms.

Planning:

  • Collaborate with the CTO, Program Manager, and Product Managers to develop and maintain timelines and roadmaps.
  • Ensure that software development projects have the right people on board.
  • Regularly review team progress, adapting as needed to keep projects on track and aligned with our vision.

Collaboration:

  • Work hand-in-hand with the Chief Product Officer, Product Managers, and Product Designers to bridge the gap between product strategy and software development.
  • Tackle any technical challenges or constraints alongside stakeholders across the team.

Talent Development and Recruitment:

  • Support the team in hiring the best talent and constantly raising the bar.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and growth within the engineering organization, including mentorship and career development opportunities.

What you'll bring

  • Bachelor's in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; Masters degree preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in software engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership role managing engineering teams
  • Experience leading teams in scaling organizations
  • Strong background in Java, React, Mobile apps, AWS.
  • Proven experience in managing and delivering complex software projects.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills that inspire greatness

Compensation

Compensation is something we dont want our candidates or employees to worry about. Our goal is to offer competitive salaries that are regularly benchmarked against the market. The core tenants of our compensation philosophy are fairness and transparency.

We have established a standardized leveling framework based on job scope and responsibilities. The compensation package for each level is standard across all engineering roles. This means that every person at a certain level is paid the same as everyone else, regardless of their background, previous compensation, location, or any other factor.

The compensation for this role is $240,000 and includes a generous equity package.
