Lab Operations Support Analyst

We are looking for a Lab Operations Support Analyst. The candidate should be experienced with laboratory instrumentation/scientific software, automated lab equipment / robotics and be comfortable working directly with lab analysts, operators, engineers, and scientists in a highly dynamic and innovative pharmaceutical company. This role represents the highest hands-on level of support for commercial and custom-developed equipment / software as well as lifecycle ownership of computer related systems for instrument control and data acquisition, data analysis, LIMS, CDS, SDMS and other lab informatics systems. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to contribute high impact and strategic activities in the lab and manufacturing technology landscape.

Requirements:

  • Hands on experience with administration of scientific software for instrument control and data analysis.
  • Extensive cross platform hardware and software design and support at an advanced academic, pharmaceutical, biotech, or other scientific laboratory environment.
  • Demonstrated experience with manufacturing equipment, benchtop instrument and controller software/hardware troubleshooting and data integration.
  • Experience in establishing controls to ensure data integrity and the ability to guide use cases into best practices for raw data management.
  • Working knowledge of administering and maintaining Microsoft operating systems, domains, databases as well as common browsers
  • Experience in securely connecting and administering manufacturing and lab equipment leveraging network, domain and security infrastructure including endpoint protection, patching, policies, remote management, authentication, backup/recovery, imaging, archiving, firewall specification, certificate management, ITIL, etc.
  • Experience with biology and chemistry equipment from Agilent, Perkin Elmer, Thermo, Waters etc.
  • Experience with manufacturing and lab integrations using serial, TCP/IP, OPC, XML, REST, SOAP with data historian, MES, LIMS, SDMS etc.
  • Knowledge of enterprise platforms for chromatography, LIMS, scientific data management, and lab execution / electronic lab notebooks.
  • Proven track record of implementing commercial off the shelf and custom software and workflow solutions for lab operations, data acquisition, sample management or lab analysis.
  • Experience in using or supporting manufacturing and quality lab data workflows.
  • Knowledge of discrete manufacturing systems, including robotics, visual inspection.
  • Perform system administration of both local and enterprise laboratory software and systems, user account management, licensing management, Tier 1 incident response and troubleshooting.
  • Actively respond to incidents and requests for all laboratory software and systems.
  • Use the IT helpdesk system to track incidents/requests and escalate issues when necessary.
  • Follow established procedures and maintain relevant documentation in support of GxP functions.
  • Provide feedback to IT Management regarding status of ongoing activities or issues.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in using or supporting manufacturing and quality lab data workflows.
  • Knowledge of discrete manufacturing systems, including robotics, visual inspection.
  • Work experience with QC/AD laboratories in a GxP/GMP setting required.
  • Experience supporting laboratory systems such as flow cytometers, qPCRs highly desirable.
  • Experience with administration of LIMS, ELN, and Waters SDMS systems a plus.
  • Experience with ITIL, ServiceNow experience a plus.
  • Excellent communication, customer relations and problem-solving skills a must.
  • Ability to follow SOPs and Work Instructions required.
  • Ability to work autonomously to solve problems and be willing and able to take on new responsibilities as needed.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment a must
  • Independently motivated, detail oriented and good problem-solving ability.
