Position: DataStage ETL Developer Location: Remote Duration: Long Term Job Description: POSITION REQUIREMENTS: TEA is seeking a skilled and experienced DataStage ETL Consultant to assist with testing and modifying DataStage ETL jobs. The primary focus of this role will be to support the migration of their ETL processes from DB2 to MySQL. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of DataStage, SQL, and preferably the MySQL flavor of SQL. Responsibilities: - Collaborate with the development team to understand the existing DataStage ETL jobs and their functionalities.
- Test and validate the existing DataStage ETL jobs to ensure their accuracy and reliability.
- Analyze the requirements for migrating from DB2 to MySQL and propose appropriate modifications to the DataStage jobs.
- Modify and enhance the existing DataStage ETL jobs to align with the MySQL database structure and SQL syntax.
- Perform data mapping and transformation tasks to ensure seamless integration between the source and target databases.
- Optimize and fine-tune the DataStage jobs to achieve optimal performance and efficiency in the MySQL environment.
- Conduct thorough testing and debugging of the modified DataStage ETL jobs to validate their functionality and data integrity.
- Collaborate with database administrators, developers, and stakeholders to resolve any issues or challenges during the migration process.
- Document the modifications made to the DataStage jobs, including data mappings, transformations, and SQL queries, for future reference.
REQUIREMENTS: - Proven experience as a DataStage ETL developer or consultant, with a focus on job testing and modification.
- Strong knowledge of IBM InfoSphere DataStage and its various components.
- Proficiency in SQL and a deep understanding of database concepts.
- Familiarity with MySQL and its specific flavor of SQL (MySQL syntax, functions, and optimizations).
- Experience in migrating ETL processes from DB2 to MySQL highly preferred.
- Solid understanding of data integration, data warehousing, and ETL best practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues and provide effective solutions.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet project deadlines.
