Tech Firefly is partnering with a national financial services company to hire a Mainframe Systems Programmer to join the dynamic team. This is a remote position that offers an opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology solutions to solve unique challenges for our clients.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and perform system programming on Mainframe systems.
• Develop, maintain, and enhance Mainframe software applications.
• Analyze and troubleshoot Mainframe system problems and provide technical solutions.
• Install, test and validate Mainframe hardware and software upgrades.
• Evaluate system performance and capacity planning to ensure high system availability.
• Ensure system and compliance standards are adhered to.
• Provide technical expertise to support project teams in the development and delivery of Mainframe-based solutions.

Requirements

• 15+ years of experience with CICS TS, especially CICS TS5.5, running in a large z/OS Sysplex. "CICS
• Experience with CPSM (CICSPlex System Manager) including usage of the CPSM WUI.
• Knowledge of CICS DFHRDO to create/maintain CICS resources, in batch and online.
• Knowledge of CICS connectivity to Db2 and MQ.
• Able to perform CICS problem determination.
• Experience with one or more CICS monitoring tools, such as Broadcom-Sysview, BMC-AMI Ops for CICS(Mainview) and/or IBM-Omegamon.
• Able to work evenings and/or weekends to install CICS changes.
• Able to work in an Oncall rotation, to provide support for off-hours and weekends.
• Optional Skills:
• Experience with CPSM BAS to create/install/maintain CICS resources.
• Knowledge/Experience with USS (Unix System Services) and JAVA support in CICS.
• Experience with install and use of CICS vendor products, i.e. Fault Analyzer, CODE1, BMS/GT for Maps, and Xpediter/CICS.
• Experience with SMP/E to install CPSM/CICS maintenance and for maintenance of CICS vendor products.
• Experience with Change Management tools.
