Product Manager (mid-Level), Machine Learning

Location: Remote, but must work PST hours

Duration: Long-term, year over year contract. No tenure limits

Your role at Sephora...

You will be the Product Manager of our machine learning team and help build a center of excellence to leverage machine learning for marketing, personalization and process optimization. You will work with a variety of business partners, including marketing, product, HR, merchandising and supply chain. To work effectively with your partners, you must educate them on the potential of machine learning and ensure useful solutions are created.

• Work with other product managers and business analysts to leverage ML to improve their products and systems
• Define a long term roadmap for machine learning (ML)
• Educate business, product and technical partners on the capabilities and potential use cases of ML
• Stay abreast of industry best practices for the application of machine learning
• Ensure all ML projects have measurement embedded in solutions to gauge success
• Manage intake of new initiatives with responsibilty to capture requirements and prioritize development work
• Write and prioritize user stories to keep the development team focused on delivering business benefit as early as possible
• Work with other data teams to utlize data in ML models
• Act as subject matter expert for machine learning, educating business and technical partners on ML capabilities

• Serve as product owner for ML scrum team
• Drive continual improvements to improve our ML models by measuring
• Develop processes to manage project intake and communicate status

We would love to hear from you if have

• 3+ years in a product management role
• Good understanding of the product role and how it complements data science and data engineering skillsets
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills to work with a variety of skillsets and org levels
• Experience implementing machine learning solutions as a product manager OR experience working with Data Science/ML teams
• Have a proven track record of delivering products and projects
• Can communicate effectively to business and technical partners in their own 'language'
• Experience with digital marketing and data
• 5+ years in B2C technical product development related roles leading data initiatives
• Solid understanding of the information flow and databases required to support reporting
• Some SQL experience
• Ability to create clear requirements using Jira user stories
• Proven ability to meet critical deadlines while maintaining strong relationships with internal teams and vendor partners
• Self-sufficient with ability to operate effectively without close supervision
• 5+ years experience working in an agile sprint development cycle and release process
• Experience using JIRA and agile methodologies
