Position Description: The Surveillance and Stewardship Program in the Office of Healthcare-Associated Infections is hiring a NHSN Coordinator, to coordinate data activities surrounding the CDC's National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN). The NHSN Coordinator will be responsible and accountable for the coordination and/or implementation of NHSN activities and communication with CDC on NHSN activities. This position is a contractual position and is funded through July 2024, with the possibility of renewal. Benefits are provided through the contracted vendor. Responsibilities: Act as primary liaison between jurisdictions (local, state, counties, and territories) and state health departments, HAI/AR team, healthcare facilities, CDC, professional societies, and other community partners with regards to NHSN activities Provide technical assistance to facilities regarding NHSN enrollment and reporting to healthcare facilities who are eligible to report to NHSN Establish new data use agreements, update existing agreements, and work with healthcare facilities to confer right Work with the local health departments to support their use of the data for facilities in their jurisdiction and assist them with obtaining NHSN access Work with local health departments and facilities to determine the barriers that facilities may have to report data into NHSN Work with the HAI/AR team to support data management and analysis of NHSN data Serves as the subject matter expert for NHSN enrollment and data activities Willingness to travel within Arizona, as needed Other duties as assigned
Skills Required: Strong technical skills including word processing, spreadsheet development and management Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to organize and prioritize tasks efficiently Ability to work independently and use strong judgment based on existing knowledge
Skills Preferred:
Experience Required: At least 1 year experience coordinating and/or managing projects
Experience Preferred: Experience with National Healthcare Safety Network preferred (i.e. reporting, enrollment, data analysis)
Education Required: Bachelor's degree in public health, epidemiology, microbiology, nursing or related field required
Education Preferred: Master's degree in public health, epidemiology, microbiology, nursing or related field
