Job Function Summary
Reporting to the Head of Technology Content and Collaboration, you will be a Technical Writer with Atlassian Confluence expertise, based in the New York or London office (potentially, depending on start date, working virtually/remotely at the outset). We are seeking someone to create clear, client-facing technical documentation, which explains how to use our products, obtain support, and get our latest features. You will work with a variety of technologists, including data scientist, quantitative developers, and cloud engineers. Your work will be delivered to Portfolio Managers (PMs) and other members of the Firm.

Principal Responsibilities
We are looking for a motivated self-starter, who is well versed in technical documentation with expertise in Confluence (our primary method of delivery for most PM-facing documentation).
You aren't afraid to roll up your sleeves and engage with extremely busy, smart engineers and developers. You know how to approach various types of people and are persistent. You understand the importance of content hierarchy and taxonomy and know how to organize wiki pages so that users can easily find exactly what they need.
You are an expert Confluence user, who has experience with plug-ins, including tabs, tables, page includes, page excerpts, and panels.
Technology intrigues you. Your technology vocabulary is proven; you understand key concepts, such as those related to basic constructs (cloud, machine learning, cybersecurity), DevOps (Elastic Kibana, Apache Kafka, Datadog), and various languages (Python, C++, Java, C#, kdb+). You have financial services experience and understand how trading works.
To begin, you will work with key stakeholders to edit and content to share with our portfolio managers and other consumers. This requires that you are able to create original content based on interviews, develop hierarchy/taxonomy as well as improve language, confirm content accuracy, check links, meaningfully organize, and assure design consistency.

Qualifications/Experience
* 5-14 years of experience of technology writing and documentation experience, ideally in financial services
* Atlassian Confluence expertise required, with HTML and CSS experience a plus
* Exceptionally high level of accuracy and attention to detail
* Ability to shift between various content topics in the wiki
* Excellent time-management planning and organizational skills
* Pristine written and verbal communication skills
* Self-starter with proven initiative and ability to work independently and as part of a broader team
* Ability to move projects along and work with a variety of topics and people
Skills/Languages
* Atlassian Confluence expertise (including macros, plug-ins, permissions)
* Taxonomy/hierarchy expertise
* Template format expertise
* UX writing capability
* Software/hardware concepts understanding
* Programming language structure familiarity
* HTML/CSS a plus
* Ability to engage, communicate, and incorporate feedback quickly and iteratively
* Able to prioritize in a fast-moving environment
* Proactive and takes initiative while communicating actions/status
