Location- 9000 Rockville Pike Bldg: 10, Room: 4N-222 Bethesda, Maryland 20892

Under this task order, the contractor will independently provide support services to satisfy the overall operational objectives of the National Institute of Mental Health. The primary objective is to provide services and deliverables through performance of support services. We are looking for somebody with extensive hands-on experience, managing and maintaining a variety of computing platforms.

  3. Thorough training and demonstrated analytical and technical skills in installing, configuring, integrating and administrating servers and workstations, running a variety of operating systems.

  8. Experience with medium to large scale storage systems, backup software (e.g. NetWorker), and experience with virtualization (e.g., VMWare).
Responsibility

Provides technical experience needed to perform analyses, processing and user support of various computer systems using standard statistical procedures and techniques.

Sets up and uses various computer systems and software packages.

Compiles and manages data and assists with quality control.

Produces various reports, graphs and figures for presentation.

Trains users in applying systems and analysis methods.

Maintains systems software as well as hardware and security configurations.

Maintains interface software between multiple computer environments to ensure smooth operation and communication.

Develops new programs and systems as needed.

Coordinates data storage and mining.

Minimum Education

Bachelor's

Computer Science

  • At at least 5 years of specialized experience
  • Masters degree preferred but will accept a Bachelors degree.
  • If a candidate has a Master's degree we would like at least 3 years of specialized experience. If a candidate has a Bachelor's degree then we would like them to have at least 5 years of specialized experience.
  • Experience with medium to large scale storage systems, backup software (e.g. NetWorker), and experience with virtualization (e.g., VMWare).
  • Provide troubleshooting support for all servers with special emphasis on Linux servers and workstations, virtual machines, Macintosh desktops and laptops and MS Window desktops.
  • Provide central user support to Linux and Mac workstations and assistance in network administration and installation, upgrade and troubleshoot scientific applications
  • Create, improve, and tune workflows and automations, using languages such as shell script and Python.
  • Routinely perform and maintain backup of user and server data and configurations using Networker or other backup software
