The demand for high quality health economic and outcomes research (HEOR) and real-world evidence (RWE) to support drug development, health technology assessment/access decisions, product differentiation, and clinical decision making continues to increase. The purpose of the company Value, Evidence, and Outcomes (VEO) team is to accelerate equitable patient access and transform healthcare delivery through the execution and communication of bold, high impact science. The VEO Center of Innovation (COI) is the central capability of real-world data/evidence (RWD/E) within our company. The Director/Senior Director (D/SD) COI Advanced Analytics is a scientific expert, with deep methodological and analytical expertise (including but not limited to advanced statistical analysis, data/text mining, predictive analytics, artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) models and tools.). The D/SD is responsible for the development of RWD/E and clinical outcomes assessment (COA) methodological and analytic capabilities and utilization. The D/SD will lead the experiment, operation, and execution of pilot use cases of RWD/W studies by applying cutting-edge advanced AI/ML methodologies and tools to generate insights and healthcare solutions.

The D/SD will report to the COI AVP Strategy Lead and work closely with VEO and the broader Team, to operationalize COI strategic plans, streamline the application of AI/ML to RWD to generate insights and real world evidence (e.g., patient identification, early detection of rare and difficult-to-detect diseases, treatment pattern analysis (dosing, adherence, retention etc.), end point/biomarker assessment, patient heterogeneity response, ML causal inference etc.), and deliver impactful results to enable VEO evidence generation, inform clinical development and business decisions for our products and support healthcare decision-making. The D/SD will work with COI Strategy Lead, to document standardized approaches and capabilities in advance analytics for scaling to all assets at our company. The D/SD COI Advanced Analytics Lead will report directly to the AVP COI Strategy Lead.

Study Development, Operation and Execution

Provide scientific leadership and be a strategic partner to VEO and Team to develop, operationalize and execute advanced analytics initiatives through application of ML/AI in RWD to optimize approval, accelerate patient access and transform healthcare delivery.

Experiment and be a champion of advanced analytics to drive and implement innovations and push the boundaries of what is possible with application of advanced analytics in RWD/E generation.

Serve as a real-world evidence and statistical subject matter expert and apply the subject matter expertise appropriately in the role and solve RWD/E research questions related to advanced analytics.

Partner with VEO/COI team to ensure on-strategy, on-time, and on-budget delivery of research deliverables.

Leadership in Advanced Analytics Capabilities and Upskilling

Lead and operationalize upskilling of key advanced analytics to deliver impactful RWE and results to optimize approval, accelerate patient access and transform healthcare delivery.

Support implementation and scaling up of advanced analytics capabilities consistently by contributing to development of appropriate infrastructure, process, and automation tools to sustain the adoptions of ML/AI in RWD/E generation.

Identify opportunities and influence key stakeholders to incorporate RWD/E with advance analytics in integrated evidence generation (IEG) plans.

Proactively influence team members and drive the use of advanced analytics to optimize knowledge sharing and collaboration across the platform.

Effectively communicate and broaden the application of advanced analytics internally and externally.

Contribute to the development of collaborative relationships with internal and external research partners to advance advanced analytics capabilities.

External Engagement

Maintain awareness of significant developments in advanced analytics field including current methodologies, and applications and other issues as appropriate for the position.

Anticipate and evaluate future market needs and trends for advanced analytics within pertinent therapeutic area and geography of interest.

Monitor and influence internal and external environmental factors that shape and impact RWE generation and use of advanced analytics.

Project Management

Ensures advanced analytics projects meet timelines, budget, and scope by coordinating research efforts with cross-functional business partners and external collaborators as appropriate.

Minimum Qualification Requirements:

Advanced degree (Ph.D. preferred) in a discipline relevant to statistics, bioinformatics, computer science, data science, epidemiology and outcome research with 10+ years of pharmaceutical industry related experience.

Good knowledge in advanced analytics and application to RWE generation to support drug discovery and clinical development.

Proficient in use of advanced analytics languages (i.e., Python, SAS, R, and SQL).

Demonstrated ability to innovate, influence and collaborate within and across teams.

Other Information/Additional Preferences:

Professional knowledge in use of RWD/E for drug approval and reimbursement.

Previous global responsibilities and experience in dealing with US and OUS markets.

Demonstrate leadership skills and influence stakeholders to resolve conflicts.

Demonstrate leadership in establishing external partnership.

Demonstrate ability to inspire, motivate, and achieve alignment with diverse personnel even when they are not directly reporting into the organization.

Ability to network effectively with and use technical and non-technical skills to be a respected and influential leader.

Additional Information:

Location is flexible in desired geography.

Domestic and international travel may be necessary.

Our company currently anticipates that the base salary for this position could range from between $138,000 to $240,000 and will depend, in part, on the successful candidate's qualifications for the role, including education and experience. Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance). In addition, our company offers a comprehensive benefit program to eligible employees, including eligibility to participate in a company-sponsored 401(k); pension; vacation benefits; eligibility for medical, dental, vision and prescription drug benefits; flexible benefits (e.g., healthcare and/or dependent day care flexible spending accounts); life insurance and death benefits; certain time off and leave of absence benefits; and well-being benefits (e.g., employee assistance program, fitness benefits, and employee clubs and activities).Of course, the compensation described above is subject to change and could be higher or lower than the range described above.
