ABOUT THE ROLE

The Manufacturing Technician will provide critical support in the commercialization of Hound Labs products. In this role, you will work closely with R&D and manufacturing to assemble products, install equipment, and refine processes/procedures. Additionally, the Manufacturing Technician will serve as a key knowledge center, supporting the training of assemblers who perform assembly operations. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, embraces a hands-on approach, and derives satisfaction from accomplishing objectives established by the Hound Labs managerial team.

OVERVIEW OF RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

  • Assists production management in identifying, documenting, and implementing assembly processes and process improvements.
  • Performs manual assembly and configuration of components and assemblies in accordance with established process instructions. Completes all required manufacturing documentation on time and with minimal errors.
  • Works within environmentally controlled environments for extended periods of time which include, but may not be limited to clean rooms, dry rooms, and other controlled manufacturing environments.
  • Adheres to the policies and procedures as established within Hound Labs Quality Management System.
  • Performs inspections of components, assemblies, electronics, and packaging. Executes rework as directed.
  • Assists in training assemblers or associates. Leads by example, to reinforce compliance with established processes and practices.
  • Maintains housekeeping standards in production and engineering areas to company expectations.
  • Tracks and reports on daily production indicators (KPI).
  • Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments for assigned tasks/projects.
  • As directed, performs calibration and preventative maintenance activities in accordance with established equipment management procedures and policies.
  • As requested, supports facilities maintenance operations.
  • As requested, performs inventory transactions/movements in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school Diploma / equivalent or sufficient and relevant industry and experience. Associate's degree in relevant discipline preferred.
  • 5+ years of related professional experience.
  • Understands basic electronic principles and the function of common electronic components.
  • Ability to read and understand electronic, mechanical, and pneumatic system schematic drawings and block diagrams.
  • Proficient in computer systems: Windows, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and various file repositories.
  • Ability to read and follow detailed instructions, maintain accurate records, and complete product inspections that meet all requirements.
  • Excellent manual dexterity with the ability to assemble complex electromechanical devices in a controlled and regulated manufacturing environment for extended periods of time. Medical Device experience preferred.
  • Soldering skills applied to surface mount and through-hole PCBAs. Experienced in manufacturing cable assemblies (wire stripping, crimping, twisted pairing, etc). IPC-A-610 and IPC/WHMA-A-620 training or certifications are a plus.
  • Understands and adheres to applicable production controls including but not limited to line clearance, gowning, ESD controls, PPE, etc.
  • Good communication skills (written and verbal [English]), good penmanship, detail-oriented, and ability to perform basic arithmetic.
  • Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills. Works well as a supportive team member.
  • Familiarity with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, signal generators, and analyzers, etc.
  • Has a Can Do attitude with an ability to complete assigned tasks with minimal oversite. Willing to work overtime or extra hours as needed.

POSITION | EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

  • Full-time position.
  • Days and hours of work may be variable depending on business needs.
  • Occasional evening work may be required as job responsibilities demand.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Indoor position that requires sitting at a computer for an extended period.
  • Exposure to moderate to loud noise and light as typical in a manufacturing environment.
  • Travel to vendors, conferences, company meetings, and other events may be required.
