Construction Project Engineer Location: US-CA-Los Angeles Email this job to a friend

JOB SUMMARY SoLa Impact, a successful opportunity zone private equity fund, is seeking a Construction Project Engineer(link removed) The Construction Project Engineer will be responsible for assisting Project Managers in the planning, design, and construction of ground-up, multifamily projects from start to finish. The Project Engineer will also be responsible for managing project documentation, tracking progress and budgets, communicating project updates, and working closely with the project team to identify and resolve any issues during construction to ensure that each project is delivered to the highest quality standards. ABOUT SOLA IMPACT SoLa Impact is a real estate private equity firm with a double bottom line strategy focused on preserving, rehabbing, and building high-quality affordable housing in Black and brown communities. SoLa is Southern California's largest for-profit affordable housing developer and is currently in construction on over 2,000 affordable housing units across Southern California. SoLa currently owns and manages over $1.2 billion of multifamily assets, almost all of which are in low-income, Black and brown communities. Requirements ESSENTIAL DUTIES - Assist Project manager with managing financials, risk management, and client relations of assigned projects from pre-construction to closeout
- Facilitate productivity of the project
- Maintain spreadsheets, input data, and produce reports
- Assist project managers in tracking progress in project software
- Deliver paperwork to city and other governmental offices
- Miscellaneous clerical work
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE - Successful experience in an administrative role within the construction industry
- 1 2 years of experience working as a project engineer
- Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Architecture, or related field strongly desired
- Real estate or construction knowledge/experience is a plus
SKILLS & ABILITIES - Highly organized
- Detail oriented, quick thinking and resourceful
- Self-motivated; can take direction, but does not always need to be told what to do
- Able to collaborate with others to utilize their resources and knowledge to identify quality solutions
- Ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Strong follow-up
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, MS Project and Procore (or other project management software)
- Familiarity with construction, building codes, plan checks
