We are seeking committed and passionate After School Program Leaders to lead academic, physical, and enrichment activities for TK as part of our San Francisco After School Programs for the 2023-24 school year. As a Program Leader you will lead and mentor up to 20 youth in an afterschool setting. This position is great for someone who has babysitting or nanny experience, is wanting to pursue a career in education or child development, and who is passionate about teaching the next generation.

Benefits

  • Pay rate: $22-$25 an hour DOE
  • Off holidays, summers and weekends

Minimum Requirements

  • Must have 48 or more college credits completed, an Associate's degree, or willing to take and pass the Instructional Aide Exam (proctored by BACR)
  • Must pass background check and TB test
  • Ability to work during after school hours
  • Ability to communicate openly in a professional manner with students, parents, community partners, and after-school and school day-staff
  • Must have experience working with elementary and/or middle school youth
  • Must possess strong classroom and behavioral management skills
  • Ability to reliably commute to San Francisco
  • Work with the coordinator and school site staff to strengthen the academic components of programming
  • Support program coordinator in supervision and safety of the program

Responsibilities:

  • Support and maintain emotional and safe environment
  • Provide homework and academic support for program participants
  • Facilitate, write, and execute physical & academic skill-building activities based on students' skill level, learning targets, instructional strategies, and state educational standards
  • Support students in developing the skills they need to be successful in school and life
  • Actively supervise and promote a safe and positive classroom environment
  • Model positive and proactive attitudes, behaviors, and language
  • Communicate regularly with the coordinator to ensure consistency
  • Communicate to parents about student progress and behavior
  • Attend and participate in all staff meetings and ongoing trainings
