We are looking for an innovative Master Craftsman Procurement Analyst to source materials, and parts from approved vendors and suppliers for our company. This position will be liaising between internal departments and suppliers, analyzing and comparing product samples, and negotiating procurement pricing, schedule, and lead times on behalf of our company.

To ensure success as a procurement analyst, you should possess extensive experience in procuring suppliers and in-depth supply chain knowledge. A first-class procurement analyst will be someone whose industry expertise translates into cost-effective procurement. A procurement analysts duties within a company are to research and compare products and services from suppliers in order to decide what will be most compatible for the company and the contract requirements. These analysts assist in determining which wholesale distributors or manufacturers will receive their companys business.

In this position, procurement analysts are responsible for evaluating vendors and suppliers based on quality, price, and speed of delivery. Decision-making and communication skills are extremely important in this job. Assessing the various possibilities correctly could help the company financially or allow for products or services to be delivered in a timely manner.

Procurement analysts communicate frequently with vendors, may visit their distribution centers and plants to learn about their products, services, and prices. Following these visits, analysts prepare reports on the suppliers and vendors and submit them for review. After a suitable vendor has been chosen, analysts negotiate terms and conditions after offering bids to desired vendors.

Having a working technical knowledge of the goods or services being purchased is extremely important for procurement analysts. Being informed about the correct price, quality, availability, and reliability of a product allows analysts to ensure the best purchasing plan possible for their company. Procurement analysts are constantly studying sales records and inventory levels of their current stock, as well as keeping up to date with the changes that may affect the supply and demand for products and materials.


Qualifications

  • Education/Training:
    • Associates Degree in management or technical/scientific discipline required
  • Experience:
    • 10+ years of professional experience in the required task area required
    • Manufacturing experience required.
    • Proven experience working with vendors and procuring materials required.
    • Strong knowledge of the industry and market conditions highly desired.
    • JobBoss or similar ERP inventory management experience highly desired.
    • Experience placing purchase requests highly desired.
  • Security:
    • Must be a US citizen
    • Ability to obtain a security clearance may be required

Requirements

Expertise and Functions:

  • Analyze drawing/blueprints/tech data to determine supply needs.
  • Creating/Transcribing Bill of Materials (BoM), consolidating BoMs from multiple sources.
  • Researching and identifying potential suppliers of goods and services.
  • Negotiate terms with suppliers such as price, quality of goods, deadlines, lead times, expectations, etc.
  • Liaise with suppliers and project managers regarding updates and details of goods.
  • Create purchase requests and tally these with supply requests and orders.
  • Analyze invoices and shipping documents to ensure accuracy of goods delivered.
  • Monitor inventory to ensure the flow of goods remains positive.
  • Attend meetings upon request to develop procurement strategies to support contracts.
  • Work closely with the project teams to understand details of procurement requirements
  • Communicating pricing and performance needs to vendors, suppliers, and program managers.
  • Documenting the features and benefits of products and services.
  • Preparing cost-benefit analysis, sole source letters, and competitive quotes for review by managers.
  • Documenting processes and generating supply cost reports.
  • Monitoring the company's demand for products to avoid supply shortages.
  • Keeping abreast of vendor and supplier-related activities in the industry.
  • Flexible to work long hours as demanded by projects required.
  • Able to travel to meet vendors and suppliers as necessary.
  • Assist with establishing, organizing & maintaining inventory of govt, customer and KIHOMAC property.
  • Participate in test or project events as assigned by Project Manager or Engineering supervisor.
  • Follow engineering guidance, technical orders, and drawings.
  • Develop critical thinking skills, become familiar with engineering & manufacturing practices, and gain understanding of how various disciplines work together as a team.
