Pastry Chef Luxury Hotel Austin Location: US-GA-Austell Email this job to a friend

The Pastry Chef is responsible for managing the daily operations of our cafe/bakery as well as overseeing the dessert program for our high volume, fine dining, rooftop restaurant. Responsibilities include leadership of the pastry team including the selection, development, and performance of the team and to ensure that our guests have a world class customer service experience. - Daily production for items, including but not limited to pastry, desserts, bread, croissant, brioche, cookies, etc.
- Management of a small team
- Management of all ordering and acceptance of daily deliveries.
- Vendor negotiations and COGS control
- Handles daily scheduling and payroll management
- Collaborate with FOH to establish and meet pars
- Developing and creating dessert menu and recipes
- Organization of kitchen, including cleanliness of dried storage, walk-ins, and dairy fridge
- Daily quality checks of products
- Attend certain outside events and programs with possible travel
REQUIREMENTS: - Minimum 5 years experience in a restaurant or bakery with at least 2 years of management
- A genuine passion and knowledge for desserts and pastries
- Luxury hotel experience preferred but not required.
- Experience with service and expediting
- Dependable and hard-working
- Sociable and friendly to staff and guests. We believe personality is your biggest asset.
- Must be meticulously clean and aware of all food safety standards - must have up to date state/local food handlers certificate.
- Must be available to work on different shifts, weekends, and holidays.
