Experience Required

• A minimum of 8 years of IT industry experience including experience in the relevant areas - planning model building, managing planning cycles and providing production support.
• A minimum of 5 years' experience working with IBM Cognos BI
• Responsible for report development and analytics for all areas of the business.
• Cognos reports development, dashboards development, framework maintenance and development.
• Involves effective understanding of business needs combined with a knowledge of pertinent data to design reporting solutions that are meaningful and well thought out based on business requirements, standards, and best practices.
• Experience working with budget and forecast planning applications.
• Must possess organizational proficiencies to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment under limited supervision.
• Must be highly motivated, self-starting, and committed to achieving results and have a strong sense of ownership and follow-through to resolution
• Must have strong problem-solving skills
• Familiarity/experience with the following Technologies:
  • IBM Analytics / Cognos BI
  • IBM Planning Analytics / Cognos TM1
  • Oracle
  • Microsoft office products

Roles & Responsibilities

• Code delivery
• Delivery reviews, ensuing defect free deliverables from team following SDLC/Agile process and client standards
• Assistance with prioritization of incoming business requests
• Respond to ad hoc report requests and issues from the enterprise
• Communicate with stakeholders regarding information needs
• Assistance with some aspects of Cognos and Tableau Administration
• Develop reporting solutions for all business areas based on business needs
• Develop dashboards within the IBM Cognos suite
• Create, enhance, and maintain Framework Manager Models
• Collaborate with business users and members of IT, including business analysts, database administrators, and managers, to design and develop Cognos reporting capability
• Exhibit a commitment to data quality by validating results against sources specified in the requirements
• Develop and maintain stored procedures
• Write and support queries against databases to be used for reporting and for validation/unit testing
• Provide production support for Reporting issues during and outside of business hours as needed
• Provide occasional training of Cognos software, environment, and configuration to other report writers and consumers
• The job function will be responsible for functional and technical solution delivery for new Cognos projects in addition to production support activities after go-live.
• The job function involves working with the business to understand the business problem and solution requirements, transforming the requirements into a planning solution (using IBM Planning Analytics - formerly known as Cognos TM1) and supporting and enhancing the delivered product on an ongoing basis.
• The job function requires a combination of skills, including but not limited to an in-depth knowledge and demonstrated experience with TM1, general financial planning experience, exposure to FP&A functions, knowledge of Cognos BI tools, project experience and excellent client relationship and communication skills.
