Experience with Oracle. Web graphic design, page layout, and UI/UX skills. Experience in the use of modern programming languages, practices and patterns, including JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and SQL to develop complex web applications. Experience with modern web application frameworks and libraries such as Node, Express, React, Bootstrap, jQuery. Experience with AJAX. Experience developing advanced web solutions fully compatible on a variety of devices and screen sizes, from mobile to desktop. Experience with web accessibility. Experience implementing web services APIs such as REST. Experience developing complex SQL queries, views, triggers, stored procedures, and relational database architecture. Experience working in an environment using established standards, practices, and methodologies, including local development, Git version control, issue queues, support ticket systems, quality reviews, and project management. Experience working independently and in a team environment to meet requirements and deadlines. The Role: 75% WEB DESIGN AND PROGRAMMING Use modern web programming languages, databases, frameworks, and content management systems to develop complex web-based solutions according to requirements. Adhere to existing Application Development software development lifecycle techniques, including maintaining code in version control, tracking issues through the ticketing system, and estimating time for large and small tasks. Use modern web front-end development using Object-Oriented JavaScript, various JavaScript libraries and frameworks (such as Node, Express, React, Bootstrap, jQuery), HTML5 and CSS3. Implement design and layout requirements using HTML, JavaScript, CSS, CMS and other layout tools. Use validation tools to ensure sites conform to HTML, CSS, and accessibility standards. Use graphic design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite or similar tools to develop visual styles, wireframes, design concepts, and other graphic elements to meet and expand on UCD design standards. Enhance visual experience of the UCD web presence. 15% CONSULTATION & TECHNICAL SUPPORT Engage clients through the discovery process to define requirements and scope for projects. Assume project lead and technical subject matter expert role to provide time estimates for large and small tasks and track devoted resources. Assist users in-person, via electronic mail or telephone. Work with others to resolve client problems. Provide user documentation and training to users of web sites, applications, and other tools. Maintain professional, positive and productive relationships with others on assigned tasks and responsibilities. Ensure that commitments are completed with the highest regard for professional, as well as personal integrity. Provide secondary technical support for hardware, operating system, and applications problems on the various Windows and Linux servers hosting web applications. Diagnose application, operational, hardware, or operating system problems; coordinate appropriate solutions with vendors and appropriate staff. Develop and maintain programs, scripts, and procedures for the automation of system administration tasks. 10% SECURITY Conduct security evaluations for a wide variety of web applications. Work with clients to meet their web application security needs as they relate to campus policy. Provide security reports to content owners and work closely to provide solutions that mitigate and/or eliminate vulnerabilities. Provide integration of CAS and Shibboleth authentication tools.
