Position: Manufacturing Engineer - Shaft Machining Location: Waterloo, IA, 50703 Primary Position Responsibilities & Duties: -
Recommend and implement cost reduction, quality, safety, and ergonomic improvement ideas. Lead team studies related to capacity, productivity, and efficiency -
Establish routings, methods, layouts, tools, costs, methods documentation, quality plans and labor standards for revisions to current operations -
Lead selection, procurement of metal removal machines; lead planning and implementation of machining cells -
Lead new model preparations and procurement of tooling, gauges, new machines and more for an efficient production process Required Skills, Knowledge, & Relevant Work Experience : -
Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills to interact with all levels in the organization and supplier personnel -
Demonstrated high ability with Excel, Outlook, Word -
Demonstrated ability to proficiently use algebra, geometry, and trigonometry -
Demonstrated ability to initiate and complete multiple, concurrent projects -
Ability and willingness to work variable hours to include off-shifts and overtime including weekend days if needed -
Three or more years' experience as a manufacturing engineer in a component manufacturing environment related to turning, milling, drilling. -
Demonstrated experience with the selection and procurement of capital equipment -
Experience with machine programming related to gear and spline cutting processes. Desired Skills, Knowledge & Relevant Work Experience |
