Overall Responsibility for the INTERIM DIRECTOR, MEDICAL RECORDS (HIM):
Plans, organizes, and directs Health Information activities throughout the Hospital. Ensures the proper coding of patient data and assists the medical staff with documentation to assure compliance with & CMS certification, state licensure and The Joint Commission accreditation. Oversees all ongoing activities related to the development, implementation, maintenance of and adherence to the organization's policies and procedures covering the privacy of, and access to, patient health information in compliance with federal laws and PRHC's information privacy practices. Prepares and certifies hospital statistical reports.
Deliverables
Rectify ongoing issues with delinquent records (i.e., monthly team meeting notes, discharge summaries, etc.)
Provider education (ongoing issues with copy & paste and incorrect electronic medical record entries.)
o Updating departmental policies and procedures and disseminating to staff in collaboration with hospital executive leadership.
Provide identified process improvement data to Process Improvement Committee (ie., # of delinquent records monthly, etc.)
Rectify issues with coding and billing.
