Key programs include training workshops, public forums, leadership programs, young professionals, leads & referral programs, networking events and more. Position Summary: The Chamber is seeking a community-minded, organized, versatile, and enthusiastic candidate for the position of Member Relations Coordinator. The Member Relations Coordinator answers queries and communicates with members and maintains membership records. This position helps with key programs such as the monthly Coffee Connections, Lunch & Learn, Business After Hours, Eggs & Issues, the annual awards ceremony, and other events and programs. This person also supports Chamber staff, and Chamber members, as well as provides relevant information to the public. This position is a direct report to the Chief Operations Officer.

The ideal candidate will be friendly and customer-focused, able to work well with members, community members, staff and visitors. This person should be comfortable working with a high degree of attention to detail, utilizing discretion, and taking initiative to solve problems, as well as incorporating new and effective ways to achieve better results. A well-qualified applicant will be a team-player and hard-working professional able to undertake a variety of tasks with a positive attitude.

Requirements

Essential Tasks & Responsibilities: Coordinates Chamber programs, engages with current and prospective members, and provides office support. Specific tasks & responsibilities include:

  • Membership Relations
    • Handles questions and information requests. Processes membership applications, renewals, and inactive members. Maintains and updates membership records.
    • Creates invoices & billings based on direction provided by associates.
    • Collects data, tracks membership statistics, and prepares reports.
    • Welcomes & provides general orientation to new members.
  • Customer Service Relations
    • Provides customer service, including answering phone & in-person inquiries. Manages member requests and emails. Assists visitors and members with questions about Chamber, community, and the area.
  • Event & Program Coordination
    • Attends Chamber events & assists with event set up, registration, & breakdown
    • Assists with marketing and promotions of the Chambers activities
    • Liaison to Young Professionals & manages YPOD program
    • Coordinates other programs
  • General Office Organization
    • Organizes office and assists associates to optimize procedures
    • Orders & maintains office supplies & equipment
    • Provides support to CEO & COO
    • Books rooms, catering, A/V setup for meetings, etc.
  • Online Communications
    • Helps maintain website, including event posting & online event registrations
    • Uploads member information, logos, photos and other data online
    • Updates CRM as required, including member listings & other data
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Customer service experience, including strong interpersonal and communication skills (written & verbal)
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite, and CRM or database programs
  • Demonstrates experience in managing multiple projects and assignments
  • Proven commitment to working with a broad, diverse community
  • Has the ability to work flexible hours, including some evening and morning events
  • Minimum of two years experience in a professional setting
  • Ability to lift and move objects up to 40 lbs. for occasional office needs, and for set up and break down of event gear and materials

Hours: Full-time position (40 hours/week) with benefits, generally Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm with one-hour lunch break, some evenings for meetings, programs, and events.

Benefits

Pay: $36,000 - $42,000 based on experience

Benefits: health, dental & vision insurance; vacation & sick leave, SIMPLE IRA program, and more. Potential opportunities for bonuses based on performance.

Compensation will be commensurate with skills and experience.
