The Bars Manager ensures a consistent and best-in-class experience for all Members & Guests in our F&B outlets. They proactively and graciously find ways to embed hospitality in even the smallest daily details. We are looking for a Bars Manager to ensure all daily activities run smoothly and efficiently. The candidate should be familiar with cocktail development, bar and beverage operations and supervising restaurant/bar staff performance to succeed in this role. You will be responsible for coordinating activities and helping people reach their full potential. The Bars Manager will be focused on ensuring excellent customer experience by being a leader and a problem solver.

About WSA Building

161 Water Street, New York

Operated and developed by Happier People Management, The Water Street Associates (WSA) Building is a modern workspace for the Fashion, Arts, Culture, and Technology industries. 700,000 sq. ft. of programming area, spread across 31 floors, will offer Health & Wellness, Dining, Retail, and the Arts intermixed with coworking spaces, offices, and a Members' community for a holistic experience. The WSA Building project will break down barriers between the public and the once-siloed office tower, expanding the cultural offerings of the neighborhood. Phased openings start summer of 2023 and through the fall of 2024.


Main Duties

Manage staff in all aspects including, recruiting, training, schedules, payroll, staff complaints and disciplinary procedures.

Assess staff performance, conduct appraisals, and strategize for improving staff performance.

Organize staff meetings and agendas monthly

Ensure that communication is open, concise, constructive and timely.

Receiving deliveries for stock and inventory as needed.

Placing orders for inventory based on business needs and budgets.

Maintains a safe, orderly and sanitized bar.

Ensures menus are up-to-date and correct.

Ensures all legal requirements are adhered to (I.e. Wage and Hour/Breaks, Health and Safety, etc.)

Report bar stock shortage (variables) glasses & equipment

Liaising with Beverage Controller over liquor stocks, costs, spillage

Overseeing events- Liaise with Functions Coordinators concerning food and drink on the night

Responsible for Mystery Shopper Reports and staff development.

Actively participates as a member of the management team in decision making processes, attending required meetings, etc.

Oversee daily/shift schedules; make any necessary changes per business need and budget.

Ensure maximum revenue is achieved from all sales opportunities.

Support beverage program training to promote quality control.

Ensure a safe and productive work environment, provide Safety Training as needed.

Requirements

A minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in a fast paced and professional environment

Previous experience as GM, AGM or Bar Manager in F&B forward and high volume environment that promotes customer engagement and experience

Proven success of champion of the culture, facilitating excellent communication and engagement

Team focused with an understanding of the bigger picture and how you can contribute

Able to effectively manage different stakeholders and be persuasive
