We are looking for an experienced Director of Performance Marketing to join our women-led team and be a key player in our organization who helps us reach more customers and grow our impact. As the Director of Performance Marketing, youll be responsible for developing and executing strategies that drive customer acquisition and measurable revenue growth by scaling and expanding our paid marketing channels and conversion rate optimization of our primary webinar sales funnel.

As we grow and scale, we need someone who can own their role and hit their metrics, manage multiple moving pieces and team members / contractors / agencies with incredible leadership and organizational skills, and equally important - be someone we love working with, since you will work closely with the senior leadership team.

This role is a top priority in the company. We are looking for someone who can own new customer acquisition which has thus far been run by the two co-founders and independent contractors. We are looking for an experienced person to oversee all paid media, thoughtfully optimize, scale, and manage a $10M to $30M annual marketing budget and expand the number of customer acquisition channels.


What Youll Do:


1. 2x New Customer Acquisition

  • Desired Outcome: Increase the number of new Dow Janes Million Dollar Year (MDY) customers we have from 1,000 per month to 2,000 per month in the next 12 months, while staying within our CAC goals, by scaling up existing channels (Meta, Google) and expanding into new digital channels. Manage existing and new agencies and internal team members as needed to achieve the objective.
  • KPI: # of New MDY Customers Per Month

2. Diversify Away from Reliance on Meta

  • Desired Outcome: Have at least 50% of our customers come from non-Meta related customer acquisition channels, while continuing to increase Meta (FB/IG) customer acquisition on an absolute basis. Manage our TikTok, Google, YouTube, and influencer marketing agencies to this outcome. Run tests on smaller channels such as pinterest, podcasts, womens newsletters, etc.
  • KPI: # New MDY Customers Per Month from Non-Meta Channels below CAC targets


3. Be Able to Produce Weekly & Monthly Attribution Reports by Channel

  • Desired Outcome: Work with our Data Analyst to produce accurate weekly & monthly attribution reports in Hubspot across all channels that can be used to assess and optimize paid media budget for the upcoming month and make in-month tweaks.
  • KPI: A trustable and accurate weekly multitouch channel attribution report that allows you to make smart budgeting decisions and optimize ad spend.


4. Manage and Optimize our Front End Sales Webinar Conversion Funnel

  • Desired Outcome: Work with our data analyst to identify opportunities to improve our webinar funnel for conversions and build a testing strategy. Use rigorous A/B testing and creative insights to test changes to copy, colors, design, etc. to improve conversion-related metrics like ad click through rate, landing page conversion rate, webinar show up rate, purchase rate, etc. Run at least 1 new test per week on the funnel following your testing strategy.
  • KPI: Increase Visitor to Sale Conversion Rate from (link removed) to (link removed)>


You will own 5 key numbers as the Director of Performance Marketing:

  1. CAC
  2. ROAS
  3. Ad Spend
  4. Visitor to Sale Funnel Conversion Rate
  5. # of New Customers


Who will you work with?

You will report directly to the Chief Revenue Officer and directly manage all of our paid media agencies.

You will also work closely with our data analyst and our copywriter for ad creative and optimizing the webinar funnel.

Where will you work?

We work 100% remotely and are scattered around North America from Washington to California, Florida, Texas, and Massachusetts, as well as across the world. We have 2-4x per year in-person meetings in rotating locations in the USA.

We provide flexible work hours, but require you to be available for occasional meetings from 10am - 3pm Pacific Time and that you join us in Slack (our asynchronous communication software).

Requirements

  • You have previously scaled and managed agencies or an internal team that was in charge of at least $5M per year in online ad spend (ideally $10M+). If you havent done this before, please do not apply.
  • You have overseen online ad spend on at least 3 different customer acquisition channels/platforms at once.
  • Youve managed multiple media buying agencies at once and know how to lead them to get results.
  • You have a deep understanding of direct response marketing funnels (with a strong preference for experience with automated webinar sales funnels).
  • You have 5+ years of experience in performance B2C marketing, with a focus on driving customer acquisition and revenue growth through digital channels.
  • You are familiar with multi-channel attribution tracking and optimizing across platforms.
  • You have tracked and managed marketing funnel data like ROAS, CAC, and AOV and know how to optimize for these numbers.
  • B2C Online business industry experience is a must
