The Senior Project Manager plays a vital role in the managing and maintaining the overall health of the agency. There are six key areas of management the Senior Project Manager oversees: scope, schedule, finance, risk, quality and resources. This is a full-time, 5-6 month temporary assignment beginning in September. Up to 40 hours per week at $55 - $65 per hour depending on level of expertise. RESPONSIBILITIES Project Management - Creating long- and short-term plans, including setting targets for milestones, adhering to deadlines, and allocating resources
- Delegating tasks on the project to employees best positioned to complete them
- Making effective decisions when presented with multiple options for how to progress with a project
- Serving as a point of contact for teams when multiple units are assigned to the same project to ensure team actions remain in synergy
- Performing quality control on the project throughout development to maintain the standards expected
- Adjusting schedules and targets on the project as needed
- Motivating people involved in the project to complete tasks on time
- Ownership of project management and time tracking platforms
- Lead efforts to ensure team is logging time accurately
Project Health - Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget
- Identifying and managing potential risks and liabilities of multiple projects
- Assisting in the definition of project scope and goals, reviewing all proposals, estimates and contracts before they are presented to the client
- Communicating with leadership to keep projects aligned with company goals
- Measure project performance through retainer and project profitability tracking on a monthly basis
- Report and escalate potential issues to management as needed
Resource Planning - Ensure resource availability and allocation
- Manage resource forecasting to ensure the agency has the proper resources available for scheduled projects
- Generate a resource forecast report on an ongoing basis to provide to all department heads and the leadership team members to escalate any anticipated needs.
Requirements - 6-8 years of project management experience in an agency setting
- Bachelors degree in related field
- Certified in project management, PMP certification a plus
- Has a history of building positive relationships with team members and vendors
- Has experience managing projects with various project management methodologies to include waterfall and agile
- Can clearly articulate how data will be used to drive success of the team
- A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field
- Experience managing production projects is a plus
- Has experience with direct management
- Must be located in the USA (PST time zone preferred)
