Position Summary

The Business Service Representative (BSR) provides excellent service for healthcare employers in San Diego County. They are responsible for developing employment and training opportunities for our participants, ensuring they are ready to thrive in the workplace. They are responsible for meeting program metrics and outcomes. They are knowledgeable of healthcare career pathways and recruitment practices. Their work will include building relationships with local healthcare employers and helping businesses navigate our healthcare workforce development programs. This includes connecting businesses with talent and facilitating subsidized and non-subsidized employment and training opportunities.

In this role, the Business Services Representative must excel in providing compassionate, attentive, and adaptive service to a diverse set of business customers. They leverage exceptional customer service, relationship building and technology to provide services for business clients with complicated workforce needs. The position requires balancing external customer needs with internal objectives. They play a key role setting strategy and moving business service projects from idea to implementation.

The Work

Business Services

  • Delivers an excellent customer experience, offering responsive top tier service to every business, in every interaction
  • Serves as the subject matter expert in healthcare related employment and training opportunities.
  • Closes the deal on businesses referred to your pipeline
  • Helps business customers navigate the Workforce Partnerships workforce system, including the completion of training agreements
  • Works with Salesforce and Data teams to track and report on all pertinent program outcomes
  • Uses Salesforce (CRM) to manage projects and enter all contact information for new relationships, activities, and communication
  • Independently accesses participant information in one or more databases to report back to employers
  • Proactively creates and activates solutions to close the gap between employer wants and needs and job seeker wants and needs
  • Gathers client feedback and suggests improvements based on this and other inputs
  • Cross-trains on other business programs and services to support as demand ebbs and flows

Business Development

  • Leverages labor market databases, internal and external networks and other tools to tailor business outreach and engagement strategies
  • Drives, with marketings support, the preparation of promotional materials such as web presence, print collateral, email templates and more to best present services to businesses and stakeholders
  • Makes presentations to community organizations, agencies, businesses, etc. about available business services and programs
  • Keeps up on current local hiring trends
  • Delivers an on-brand customer experience in every interaction with both internal and external customers

Performance

  • Meets service level agreements (SLAs), which includes responsivity, customer satisfaction and use of the CRM to record all interactions (calls, emails, meetings) with business customers
  • Meets relevant key performance indicators (KPIs), including but not limited to:
    • Repeat business customers
    • Employee retention with the same employer
    • Earnings gain
    • Training-related placement
    • Timeliness of placement
    • Customer satisfaction

System Alignment

  • Works alongside the Workforce Partnerships training team to ensure training goals are being met when applicable
  • Works closely with Sector Initiatives healthcare occupational training team to ensure smooth transition between job seekers, trainers and all staff.
  • Works closely with Career Navigator and Program Specialist teams to understand talent pool, develop employment opportunities and identify participants ready for placement
  • Collaborates with internal business teams on opportunity development and coordinated customer experience and outreach strategies
  • Circulates pertinent information and reporting to colleagues, leadership and partners

General

  • Attends events outside normal business hours
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

What You Bring

  • 4+ years of experience working directly with business clients in workforce development, or in related spaces such as B2B product/program implementation, economic development or other business consulting.
  • 2+ years managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders, relevant training or certifications a plus (e.g. Scrum Master, Project Management).
  • Demonstrated ability to think critically, solve problems creatively, and effectively design solutions to meet the needs of diverse business customers.
  • Experience with using a CRM (e.g., Salesforce) highly preferred.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, including presentation presence.
  • Detail oriented and tech-savvy; high level of proficiency in web-based systems and communication.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret policies, procedures and technical manuals, formal directives and notices, and governmental rules, regulations and statutes.
  • Ability to interpret federal, state, and local policies and procedures for the delivery of Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act services.
