Position Title & Overview:

The Sr. Finance & Accounting Analyst will be responsible for leading the day to day financial operations across Mediavine. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills and a demonstrated track record of working effectively across an organization to deliver measurable results. This role will also assist in financial planning, budgeting activities and partnering with leadership to enable Mediavines continued growth. The Sr. Finance & Accounting Analyst will report directly to our Director of Finance & Accounting.

  • Focus on the day-to-day financial operations within the company (payroll, invoicing, and other transactions)
  • Maintain our accounting system with proper coding of transactions on bank and credit card statements in Quickbooks
  • Compile and analyze historical data to assist with building department budgets, including creation of cost centers
  • Manage expense report submissions and review for accurate coding
  • Support Finance Director in implementing forecasting models, measuring results, tracking performance vs. expectations, and providing recommendations for corrective action
  • Assist in putting together monthly reporting packages including actuals, forecast, and budgets, as well as quantitative and qualitative analysis
  • Play a key role in financial programs to include corporate credit program
  • Assist in preparing and presenting monthly, quarterly, and annual business reports and financial statements, ensuring quality and accuracy
  • Provide expertise in developing and refining processes and policies to increase the financial efficiency and effectiveness of the business
  • Build and manage relationships across the business, external teams and vendors, including banks
  • Required travel on an as needed basis, for our annual All Hands Retreat, Department Retreat(s) and industry events/conferences (approx. 15%)

  • Applicants must be based in the United States

You Have:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or Math related field preferred
  • 7+ years of financial, planning, and analysis and/or budgeting experience
  • Expertise in budgeting and forecasting, successfully maintaining financial planning processes
  • In-depth knowledge of financial regulations, compliance requirements and GAAP
  • Proven ability in financial analysis, identifying trends and providing actionable insights
  • Experience preparing and presenting financial models and reports
  • Ability to handle confidential information in a professional and discreet manner
  • Familiarity using Slack, Google Suite and Mac software
  • Knowledge of accounting software such as QuickBooks; Expensify, a plus
  • Experience preparing and presenting financial models and reports to leadership teams helping to drive business decisions
  • Successful track record of working cross-functionally with the ability to influence and build strong relationships
  • Knowledge of data analysis and financial risk management
  • Experience with corporate, federal and state tax requirements
  • Understanding of revenue, associated financial KPIs and how to drive operational improvement
  • Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to balance priorities and proactively anticipate issues in a fast-paced environment
  • High standard of ethics with the ability to act with discretion, strict confidentiality, and sensitivity towards issues and individuals
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to travel up to approx 15%
