Located at 281 Park Avenue South, the six-floor, 45,000 sq ft. historic landmark is home to an unexpected mix of world-class art, vibrant cultural programming, and exceptional dining experiences including Vernika and Chapel Bar. Recent exhibitions include works from Andy Warhol and David LaChapelle, and currently Hip-Hop Conscious, Unconscious and Elizaveta Porodina.

The Role

The Director of Corporate Partnerships and Membership is a B2B sales role responsible for the planning, development, and implementation of effective sales strategies to corporations in support of Fotografiska New York, through either corporate sponsorship/brand partnerships (of the museum, exhibitions, programming), or corporate memberships. Reporting to Fotografiska New Yorks Executive Director and Fotografiskas Global VP of Business Development, the Director will own local area corporate relationships and work closely with Museums Executive Director and global Partnerships team to develop and launch B2B sales at Fotografiska New York. The Director will also manage the sales performance of the Fotografiska New York B2C Membership team, consisting of two Membership Managers and a Membership Coordinator, and support them with their objectives and targets. This role requires a strong salesperson with an extensive network and a collaborative personality who recognizes the importance of a team effort.

In line with set annual targets, Director will deliver a sales plan which will create a maximum of 10 x new annual corporate (B2B) memberships in the region of $100k per membership. The Director will generate robust local sponsorship deals, as well as be responsible for taking the lead on Fotografiska New York client relationships that complement Fotografiskas global Partnerships while building local awareness and supporting key Fotografiska brand values.


Requirements

  • Drive B2B sales from start to finish, leading on market research, database development, outreach, client development, negotiation, and contract delivery
  • Manage B2B client relationships, executing and project managing while involving the relevant FGNY teams
  • Set team standards for working with B2B and B2C clients
  • Support with SOPs, team standardized work process, data collection, and reporting
  • Regularly meet and collaborate with FGNY leadership to set annual sales goals, determining changes to sales tactics or offerings in tandem
  • Develop and execute annual sales strategy as approved by the ED/GM and Global VP.
  • Regularly vet the exchange of sales opportunities with Global Partnerships, local Private Events, and B2C Memberships, as relevant
  • Track and analyze both B2B and B2C sales performance, leveraging data and insights to optimize strategies and drive results
  • Collaborate with the Global team to manage global partnership deliverables when it pertains to FGNY activities
  • Work with the Director of Private Events to ensure coordination and production of corporate events as part of annual corporate membership with a focus on quality while maximizing profitability
  • Work with the Director of Private Events to promote annual corporate membership to existing corporate event clients and incoming inquiries for individual events
  • Ensure smooth handover of events to the internal production teams, through the life cycle of the membership
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date P&L for reporting to executive teams and quarterly reconciliation
  • Partner with the Events, F&B, Membership, Ticket Resellers, Programming, Marketing, and Experience teams to insure the corporate membership compliments existing relationships and activations in the building
  • Regularly meet with Exhibitions, Programming, and ED to assess annual strategy for sponsorship of Museum events and access and membership-specific programming
  • Work with the Marketing team to ensure Corporate Members and sponsors are integrated into the museum communications strategy
  • Work with the Experience team to ensure Corporate Members are integrated into the museums door policy
  • Willingness to work a variable schedule including weekends and evenings when needed

Preferred Qualifications include:

  • 5 - 8 years of identifying, developing, and managing full-cycle corporate sales of $5 million annually
  • Highly developed contact network, in particular in NYC HQd companies
  • Proven management skills leading and developing a sales team against annual revenue and performance targets
  • Comfort in a fast-paced, think-on-your-feet environment - you can switch modes and juggle multiple projects and multiple deadlines with ease
  • Familiarity with a variety of platforms + tools, namely Tripleseat, Monday, ASANA, Keynote, and Hubspot
  • A strong understanding of sales funnels for this industry, online and offline, and where to engage prospective clients (corporate functions or event summits)
  • Experience in sales and client/project management
  • Experience in developing sales collateral
  • Ability to track and identify successful sales strategies, with the ability to identify and pivot if needed
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, the ability to effectively communicate with internal teams, clients, partners, and senior executives
  • Collaborative, solutions-driven personality
  • Solid understanding of the museum industry and cultural sector, familiarity with market trends, and the ability to identify opportunities- a plus not required
  • Fotografiska is open to a variety of educational, professional, and training backgrounds in support of the role

The anticipated salary range for this position is $100,000 - $110,000 per year.
