This year were continuing our product-fueled growth by adding new features to assist our customers with their DNS-layer security and broadening our solution to meet the needs of our customers.

To accelerate our growth, we are looking for an experienced VP of Direct Sales to drive our business development efforts and help scale our company. The VP of Direct Sales will be responsible for developing and executing a sales strategy for our self-service, transactional, and enterprise accounts which construct our Value and Velocity Pods. The ideal candidate has scaled revenue in SaaS organizations from $5m to $30m+ ARR, including implementing the processes, tools, culture and playbooks to deliver sustainable, profitable growth. This is the epitome of a player-coach role. We are looking for an experienced leader who can be a strong mentor and cheerleader for the team and a strong business partner to our VP, Channel Sales.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy that identifies key revenue opportunities and creates a roadmap for growth and expansion
  • Build and manage a high-performing sales team that achieves and exceeds revenue targets and drives customer acquisition and retention
  • Recruit, manage, and mentor a team of world-class sales professionals
  • Create quotas and compensation plans to help support the achievement of our goals and targets
  • Establish strong relationships with key decision-makers at potential and existing customer organizations
  • Partner with Marketing, Finance, Customer Support, Product, and Engineering teams to maximize opportunities for positive collaboration that support our revenue growth
  • Utilize deep knowledge of our market, industry trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to drive sales performance
  • Manage sales activities such as lead generation, qualification, pipeline management, deal closure and forecasting and ensure that they are aligned with overall business goals
  • Set appropriate performance expectations for the sales team and establish clear metrics to measure success
  • Partner with Marketing and Product teams to ensure consistent messaging and effective go-to-market strategies

    Success in this role is measured by:

  • Setting and meeting aggressive growth targets for new and expansion revenue
  • Providing accurate forecasts and forward-looking targets
  • Building, managing and leading a team of high-performing sales professionals to ensure predictable, forecastable goal attainment

Requirements

  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience in a sales leadership role
  • Proven track record of successfully scaling sales efforts at a B2B SaaS company
  • An in-depth understanding of the cybersecurity industry
  • A successful track record of closing deals across small, mid, and enterprise markets
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, with experience working in a cross-functional team environment
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate and lead a high-performance sales team
  • Excellent analytical skills and the ability to identify key sales metrics and trends
  • A successful track record of closing deals across small, mid, and enterprise markets
  • Previous experience building and scaling sales organizations from early-stage to at least $30m ARR
  • An entrepreneurial mindset and enjoy solving complex problems

The estimated salary for this role is: $200,000 to $240,000 with a target OTE of $400,000 USD annually. DNSFilter is a pay for performance organization, which means there is the opportunity to advance your compensation with performance over time. The hiring base pay is dependent upon many factors such as level, function, training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, and/or geographic location. As a fully remote company, our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. and global geographic markets. We pay differently based on those defined markets.
