We provide low-barrier emergency shelters, supportive services, and housing-first-minded rental assistance that helps individuals and families step out of homelessness and back into the community.We are seeking compassionate and empathetic individuals who are interested in making a difference in the lives of others and their community. JOB SUMMARYThe Road Home seeks employees that have a deep commitment to the mission of serving adults and families that are experiencing or have experienced homelessness. Resident Advocates will provide excellent customer service to these individuals while working for the states largest supportive housing development for formerly homeless individuals. The Advocate will work at the front desk of a 65-unit apartment building and perform a wide variety of duties relating to working with poverty and vulnerable populations. Working here is an opportunity to build and change lives! *If you arent physically able to do these tasks, we will make reasonable accommodations so please still apply* Location Magnolia Reports to Magnolia/Wendell Property Manager Position Status On Call Shift On Call Grade/Starting Salary Grade 4/$16.00/hour FLSA Status Non-Exempt EEO Class Administrative Support Workers Job Duties - Provide excellent customer service to our residents and their families, guests, donors, vendors, community agencies, etc.
- Work with diverse clients - being culturally responsive and approaching clients who are from different racial, socio-economic, and ethnic communities with respect and openness.
- Work with people who have experienced trauma from a Trauma-Informed Care perspective.
- Provide crisis intervention as needed; including determining when it is necessary to involve other staff, administration, or the authorities.
- Provide clear, specific and consistent information to residents, and instruct residents of property rules/procedures.
- Monitor the activities of residents to ensure the safety of residents, volunteers and staff.
- Assist in resolving conflicts that may arise among residents.
- Work well in a public service-delivery environment, which can often be fast-paced and require excellent multi-tasking skills.
- Assist in maintaining a clean and safe facility, identifying special needs and referring needs to supervisor.
- Perform rounds to check the building for safety and security.
- Draft incident reports where appropriate, maintain records of resident and guest activity and maintain an accurate shift log.
- Operate as part of a team that strives to serve people who have/are experiencing homelessness in our community.
- Check residents guests in and out.

- Ability to contribute to the Agency's commitment to enhancing awareness and appreciation of diverse ethnic and cultural heritages.
- Willingness to understand that housing first, harm reduction, low barrier access to resources is best practice and essential to our mission at The Road Home.

- Must pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen.
Requirements Education and Experience - High School diploma or GED required
- Experience working with diverse and vulnerable populations preferred
Physical and Equipment Requirements - Ability to lift 25 pounds.
- Ability to sit, stand or walk for an hour or more at a time.
