Our Position Summary

The Program Specialist II is responsible for the case management and delivery of services for participants enrolled in ICT programs. The Program Specialist will work alongside education providers and other partners to build a successful culture and community that can graduate participants through the program and into the tech workforce. Working hours vary based on the needs and availability of clients, which includes some evenings as needed. Some local travel required and occasional out of County travel to meetings for participants or funders may be required.

The Work

Case Management

  • Provide career coaching to a caseload of approximately 50 clients, communicating open opportunities, and supporting with regular communication to relevant stakeholders.
  • Support participants success in completing the training requirements of the program.
    • Monitor job seekers progress, service delivery, and consumer satisfaction by providing a minimum of monthly service to all active individuals on assigned caseload. Provides increased frequency of service whenever indicated by needs assessment.
  • Guide participants through job readiness curriculum and ensure participants are upholding their job search deliverables.
  • Build a culture and community around each cohort that makes it an inclusive and empowering environment.
  • Manage communications channels for participants and facilitate contact between wide range of parties.
  • Work with team members to identify meaningful ICT internship and job opportunities for each participant.
  • Work with team members to ensure quality and supportive services are being delivered.
  • Support with recruitment of new program participants and complete enrollment paperwork.
  • Conduct exit interviews with ICT program participants.

Event Management

Coordinate with ICT staff to develop and execute job readiness and hiring-related programming and events.

Employer Sourcing

Work with ICT leadership to identify, source and manage key employer partners open to hiring ICT talent.

Internal Procedures

Attend agency staff meetings, case review meetings, supervisory meetings and training meetings as required.

Maintain high quality, accurate, and up to date documentation & program data in Salesforce.

Provide services that align with the mission and goals of San Diego Workforce Partnership.

Adhere to and create best practices.

Perform other projects as requested

Requirements

What you bring

Required

  • Passionate about and able to clearly articulate Workforce Partnerships mission and vision.
  • Experience in working with underprivileged populations.
  • Bachelor's Degree or 4+ years of program management equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 3+ years of case management or service delivery experience.
  • High attention to detail and a focus on analytical decision making.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and proven track record of taking initiative and delivering results.
  • Strong ability to build effective relationships with teammates and partner organizations.
  • Strong competence in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Excel.
  • Effective, clear communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Problem solving and ability to multi-task.
  • Critical thinking skills.
  • Skilled with Microsoft Office and Microsoft Excel.
  • Valid CA Drivers License and proof of insurance.
  • Reliable transportation.

  • Experience and/or familiarity with the ICT sector
  • Prior Salesforce experience
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)
  • Experience planning & facilitation of community events
  • Experience leading classes/training
  • Motivational interviewing experienc
