Solid Sealing Technology (SST), a leading designer and manufacturer of small-scale electrical components for industrial, medical, and research facilities, is seeking a Production Supervisor to join our team. As the Production Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the daily activities of production operations to ensure timely production and delivery of high-quality products to our customers. You will have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies and play an integral role in the production process.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Supervisory

  • Leads and develops engaged team members to own the success of the business and contributes to continuous improvement (CI) in areas of safety, quality, cost, and productivity, etc.
  • Monitors and reviews to ensure team members comply with all applicable organization, facility, and corporate policies and procedures.
  • Assists with recruitment/hires, monitors, and completes the training process for new hires, as well as, internal promotions/moves.
  • Provides feedback on expectations and performance to production team members on a regular basis; completes timely performance reviews.
  • In the event of performance issues, maintains documentation to track, counsel, and coach team members.
  • Maintains production team member training matrix and implements applicable cross-training to ensure production continuity and flexibility.

Safety

  • Ensures a safe, clean, and environmentally compliant work environment-building a culture with safety as a cornerstone.
  • Monitors and reviews to ensure team members comply with all applicable safety regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Coordinates all required safety training, including ensuring all team members are up to date on their specific certifications, where applicable.
  • Maintains plant housekeeping expectations to ensure safety is compliant with 5S standards.
  • Leads execution of safety requirements, including but not limited to, reporting and/or investigation of all safety incidents-driving to root cause (RC) and corrective action(s) (CA), safety meetings, safety inspections, etc.

Quality

  • Ensures quality standards are met and works with the Quality team to address any issues that may arise.
  • Promotes involvement of team members on quality concerns/issues to achieve resolution.
  • Ensures organizational procedures are followed so production specifications and quality metrics meet customer requirements.
  • Ensures operational activities are customer oriented.

Operations/Manufacturing

  • Develops and implements production plans and work schedules to ensure efficient operations in accordance with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Invests in the development and growth of team members for continued success.
  • Collaborates with stakeholders and adjusts schedules as necessary by taking proper action(s) to achieve desired output from manufacturing in support of customer needs.
  • Communicates status/updates with Manufacturing Manager on an on-going basis.
  • Supports continuous improvement (CI) initiatives and project work to enhance and contribute to facility advancement and changes in business.
    • Communicates CI expectations to production team members.
    • Collaborates with team members to optimize process(es) by identifying Opportunities for Improvement (OFIs) and executing action(s) to deliver results.
    • Leads and participates in 5S initiatives in multiple areas throughout the organization.
    • Utilizes Lean concepts/principles on a regular basis.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent with five years of experience in a manufacturing environment. Associate or Bachelor Degree preferred.
  • Five years of leadership/supervisory experience; preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach and mentor with results; develop people and build a team.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead multi-functional teams to achieve plant goals and objectives.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written); effectively communicates across all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to engage self and others in learning.
  • Ability to multitask and make decisions in a fast paced, manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to collaborate and foster team work; inspire and energize others.
  • Follows through on commitments and promises.
  • Familiar with Lean Manufacturing concepts/principles.
  • Proficient with utilizing computer programs, including but not limited to, ERP system(s) and Microsoft Office suite.
